We have visited Venice several times before, and consider this hotel to offer really good value, compared to some other hotels, possibly because it is a fair way away from the tourist trails (which was a bonus for us). We upgraded to a larger room, and it was very spacious, with typical Venetian fabrics and decor. The bathroom was good, with plenty of hot water. You had to be careful in the shower, as there was only a half screen, no curtain, so water tended to spray everywhere. The bed was a large double, made up of 2 singles, and the mattress was fairly firm, which might not suit everyone. Our window looked out on to a brick wall on one side, and the back gardens of surrounding buildings on the other side, but we didn't need a view - you just have to go outside for canals, palaces etc.

The breakfast was good, by Venice standards, with fresh fruit, yoghurt, different types of bread and croissants, cold meat, cheese, boiled eggs, pastries etc.

We were made to feel very welcome by the staff, who were all very friendly and helpful. They recommended a restaurant, just along the next canal, which was very good, and full of locals. As it was Easter, the hotel reception was decorated with fluffy chicks and an enormous chocolate egg, larges pieces of which appeared in our room when it was dismantled after the holiday weekend. Delicious!

The Alilaguna orange ferry from the airport was very quick, about 20 minutes, and drops you off at the first stop, which is only a 5 minute walk to the hotel. This ferry runs every half hour, but you have to allow at least 5 minutes to walk to the jetty from the airport.

The nearest water bus stop on the Grand Canal is less than 10 minutes walk, at the Marcuola stop, and quite easy to find, just beyond the Strada Nova, which has many shops and restaurants.

I would certainly return to this hotel.

It was a nice hotel with nice rooms, and kind persons. Breakfast was ordinary. You don't need to go there by water taxi. We made that mistake. From the train station it costs 60€ by water taxi. You can go there by water buses. It costs 10€ per person and it takes to the hotel 5 minutes on foot from the water bus stop. It is easy to rech to airport with water buses. It costs 15€ per person. It's better to walk to Piazza San Marco. You can see signs everywhere.

we stayed in Ai Mori d'Oriente over Easter week and hotel was lovely. We stayed in superior double room- very spacious, comfortable, big bed. Very clean and quiet. The only think they could improve is breakfast buffet- very poor choice.

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our trip to Venice. It is furnished beautifully, the staff are incredibly helpful and due to its relatively small size, it wasn't too busy or crowded (except for one moment at breakfast when we were caught in the last minute rush and had to wait a while for a table!).
The location is not in the middle of the tourist attractions, it's a fair walk away, but that's exactly why we chose it. It's quiet and you feel as if you're really in Venice, not just a tourist location, and it was loads of fun wandering through streets that weren't packed with other westerners. It's also probably serviced by the closest vaporetto stop to the airport!
Our room was really pretty, although quite small - so small that I did feel as if we'd paid a little more than we should have! Venice is a rather cramped city though, so I suppose diminished room sizes are to be expected!
All in all, we loved this hotel and it made our stay in Venice magical.
