The hotel is very well located, its biggest advantage. A 10 minute walk from the station, and 50 meters from a water bus station, makes it a breeze to get around. As the likelihood of getting lost in Venice is quite high, it helps tremendously that you can just follow the directions to 'Ferovia' and it'll get you back to the hotel easily. The smell in the stairway was terrible, however, and if you keep in mind that you'll be making your way up those stairs for four flights, you'll be panting in smelly air by the time you reach the second landing. Breakfast was great. Wifi was a constant battle. After a mix-up with room numbers, I concluded that this is a good place to stay, but that it could've been better.

Room Tip: If you battle with fitness or heavy luggage, make sure you get a room on the ground or first floor a...

I booked this trip as an extreme last minute, literally booking over the phone on the way to the airport.

As the price of this hotel was way cheaper than others, I was expecting the worst, but it was actually a very friendly and clean hotel, with the receptionist being of Pakistani origin if I'm not mistaken who was also very friendly.

All by all a good experience.

I was here on NYE 2011, and 1 Jan 2012. Given how everything in Venice is rather pricey, this place is fairly decently priced given its close proximity to the central station, and the occasion.

The service staff were friendly. The breakfast offered is decent and very typically American.

I had a room with shared bathroom on the 4th floor. The shared bathroom was really clean and big. However, the room I was given (first room on the left right by the stairs) could do with a lock change. It was easy to lock the door, but extremely difficult to open the door. A hard push to the door was needed each time you wanted to open the door.

The hotel could do with a lift. I was solo backpacking. So, while climbing the flight of stairs up to the 4th level was a little tiring, it was fine for me. It would probably be more difficult for someone with luggages.

One last note: The stariways smelled really bad, particularly the first level. I can't quite pinpoint where the smell was from, but it did smell a little like sewerage.

Overall, it was an okay place to stay for two nights. But, I might think twice about staying beyond two nights.

Location:
The hotel is located a few minutes walking from the train station. The hotel is located on a quiet street, so there were no issues with noise for sleeping.

Hotel Description:
The hotel lobby has been recently renovated. It has a modern look and feel. There is a small breakfast/café area off the lobby. There is also a large area to store your bags if needed.

Room Description:
We booked a double room and, perhaps this was lost in translation, but we expected a large double/queen bed. Instead we got two very small single beds. The hotel was full, so we could not get another room. Not a big deal, but something to double-check when booking. The room itself was poor in quality. Small window with little natural light; not very clean (mysterious smudges on the walls); and very small (even by European standards).
We did not have a bathroom in our room. There were several bathrooms on the floor. These varied in size and quality. One bathroom had a large bathtub, while another had a stand-up shower that was so small, it was difficult to change clothing. The bathrooms were kept very clean.

Breakfast/meals:
Breakfast was included in the room rate. The breakfast area was a bit of a mess. There were two staff members working the area, however, the tables were not cleared, and the food was not replenished very quickly. The staff members were seen texting on their phones and socializing with other staff. We were not greeted or acknowledged in any way. The food itself was very unremarkable consisting of yogurt, cereal, bread, coffee & juice.

Service/staff:
The front desk staff was very nice. Check-in and check-out was efficient. They were very accommodating with us leaving our bags for the day after our check-out (we had a late train). As mentioned above, the breakfast staff was not very good.

Overall:
Having read other Trip Advisor reviews of this place, I knew what I was getting into….an average hotel with good prices close to the train station. So, in short…if you want a well-priced, no frills hotel in Venice that is close to the train station as a home-base for exploring Venice, this is your place. A one-night stay is fine, but if you are in Venice for multiple days, or want more creature comforts, there are many other options.
