This was well located just outside the touristy zone - you could be in that in a couple of minutes walk. But this is in a more normal working part of Venice - just what we wanted. Two local groceries within a couple minutes walk - one more in the tourist section, one not.
The Arsenal water bus stop is within 5 minutes gives you quick and easy access to all the main 'hot spots' and over to Lido for the beach.
We loved the great windows in this restored 14th century flat. The kitchen has pretty much what you'll need though there is no microwave so keep that in mind.
The rooms are clean and comfortable size. The larger bed was a little bit saggy but adequate. No WiFi so keep that in mind.
I loved the small lion figure (see my photo) that's in the entrance adjacent to the steps down to the canal entrance via boat (not used but interesting to have.)
Best part was the location which allowed us hear and be in a non-touristy area but still walk to San Marcos, etc. within 10 minutes. But the walk over to the Arsenal area is peaceful and uncluttered. Great place for some rest and access.
It can be a little challenging to find this the first time so print and follow the instructions once you'll book it. Once you know where it is, it's easy to find again. Enjoy the best of real Venice and the touristy part from this enjoyable abode.
