“Exceptionally helpful staff”
Reviewed 1 May 2012

From the moment we arrived until our departure four days later hotel personnel could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Suggestions as to what to do and see, directions, helpful transport links were all provided, together with umbrellas when it rained. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast buffet was varied and of good quality with the staff quick to offer a morning cappuccino. Very well situated for the train station, bus station and cruise ships. Would certainly stay here on any subsequent visit to Venice.

The location of this hotel if going on a cruise is absolutely the best. If you are going to stay a few days before or after your cruise I suggest you buy a several day pass to use the boats on the canal as that is the easiest way to get around the city. The hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room with a canal view

This was a great hotel for a Venice stay. Right across the bridge from the train station so you dont have to lug your luggage all through the tiny streets and over the bridges. The hotel is right on the grand canal. The staff were very helpful and nice and spoke English very well. Our room was very nice and well decorated. The bathroom was also nice. They have a little bar and also gondola rides leave from right outside of the hotel. Great location and close to pretty much everything you need. good place no complaints. Venice was somewhat boring unless you enjoy buying cheap chinese trinkets. Huge tourist trap. Gondola rides for $200 for 30 minutes. Worth seeing but 2 days is enough.

we stayed here for six nights last week. it was wonderful!
the location was perfect for us--out of the touristy area, situated near many non-touristy restaurants and cafes.
we had a junior suite with an awesome canopy bed, and the room was immaculate. there is a safe that is big enough for your laptop...but beware, there is no wireless internet in the rooms of the hotel. only in the lobby. but there IS wireless (though sometimes kind of slow/spotty) in the room that we had, which was down the little street, not attached directly to the hotel. (we loved this.)
the staff is SO LOVELY and helpful, and they provide you with all sorts of maps and tour books. breakfast was good. their cappucinos are excellent. :)
one day, when it was super rainy, and i had inappropriate footwear, the staff tracked down galoshes for me to borrow for the day! unbelievable!
i agree with the reviews who says to avoid the free trip to murano. it's sort of tacky and annoying and if you leave that particular furnace, you have to pay your own way back. if you have an unlimited vaperetto ticket anyway, just go on your own.
but, we did take their advice and go to la perla on burano, and they did give us a small discount on lace when we mentioned that we were staying at antiche figure!
we can't wait to come back and stay here again!

Room Tip: make sure you ask about wifi reception if you really need it in your room. only certain rooms have i...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in late April along with another couple. It is ideally located within a few minutes walk of the both bus and train stations. The best part of the hotel is its staff, knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. They are genuinely interested in the guests and ensuring that they are enjoying their holiday. Our rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms had all the modern facilities but with the classical decor of marble and Murano glass. In Venice you have to be prepared to walk but the rewards are worth the effort, open spaces appear round every other corner with the most beautiful architecture of churches and museums looking down at you. Good restaurants abound even the little cafes present attractive, well prepared fayre. We will certainly return to Venice and will look no further than the Antiche Figure as our base.
