Strongly recommend this hotel! Great location - directly opposite train station (no noise or problem with that, as may be the case in some cities). Also very short walking distance to the bus station, with access to the airport - 25 minute journey by bus every 15 mins, 5 euros. Also by the 'first' stop on the Grand Canal which means you can get the best seats on the boat (outside at the back - in shade but fresh air and good views!). If you are planning to use the river boat and airport bus (number 5) cheaper to buy a 24 hour/36 hour pass.

Hotel staff very helpful at check in. We'd booked a double room with extra bed for our 7 year old but were upgraded to room 518 which is effectively a top floor apartment down the street next to the hotel. REALLY good , much more space, modern fittings etc, plus a balcony/terrace which we used at night. Had read other reviews saying not to accept a room in the 'annexe', so I asked to see this first, and it was perfect!

Very clean, good fabrics etc, newly refurbished

Breakfast was a bit lacking - felt a bit biscuit and cakey, but that may apply to other places in Venice. On the whole, food in Venice not that great, best stick to cheap and cheerful pizzas.

Room Tip: 518 great -top floor 'apartment' down narrow sidestreet, don't let that put you off - very roomy, own terrace

We stayed here from August 24 - 26, 2011. The hotel is located on the opposite side of the train station St. Lucia, so it is very easy to spot the hotel. As soon as we entered the hotel, Francesca welcomed us with such warmth and hospitality. We already paid our hotel, but Francesca offered us a junior suite room (which is on a different building but next to the hotel), which was beautiful, very clean and spacey. It is quite big actually considered this is in Europe. Francesca also recommended an excellent restaurant for us to have lunch, Trattoria Povoledo, great food and affordable price. And for dinner, Anka recommended Osterio Al Vezzo Pocco, the best Pizza in town and it is true. They are always busy, so it is better to booked first, and also they closed on wednesday. Breakfast was included in the room that we paid and it is very good. They have a flavoured coffee yoghourt, which is amazing, we loved it so much.
If you are planning to go to Venezia in the near future, this is the only place to stay, small hotel, but very clean and they made us feel special and comfortable. You couldnt asked for any better customer service. Thank you to Francesca, Alessandro, Anka, Linda and the other lady (sorry forgot her name, who made the very best cappucinno) for great hospitality and customer service. We loved it and definitely will come back and also recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Room Tip: Junior suite room, very clean and big for europe hotel. Comfortable bed, coffee and tea maker, fridge, flat tv, safe box.

An excellently located hotel on the grand canal opposite the railway station, however just off the main pedestrian routes so you can sit outside and enjoy a coffee without people tripping over your table. The hotel staff were most helpful recommending dining, places to visit and ways to get around. The room and en-suite were clean and well appointed. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Our past trips to Venice have always provided disappointing experiences with hotels, but thanks to Trip Advisor, we found Hotel Antiche Figure. Past hotels have been overpriced and mediocre or worse in quality. Antiche Figure staff welcomed us warmly and attentively and at several points during our stay offered tips on sightseeing and restaurants, and we always were pleased with their specific suggestions. They seemed genuinely happy to have our business and assuring a pleasant stay. We booked two rooms, one on the Grand Canal, and the other a junior suite in another building around the corner. Both were well appointed with period furniture and lovely linens, and our room in the suite in the other building had a cleverly designed, modern kitchenette. I loved walking out the door into the street (a Venice street, i.e., an alleyway), feeling a little like a real Venetian. Needless to say, it was very quiet, and we slept well. The room on the Grand Canal was also quiet, despite the boat traffic and the presence of the train station across the canal. We found a convenient laundomat a block or so away, and next to it a coffee bar at which to wait for the laundry, where we waitied for our laundry over croissants and espresso, along with locals who stopped in on their way to work. While Antiche Figure is convenient to the train station and vaporetto stops, sites and restaurants, its location also offered a glimpse of a real, working part of the city.

Having read previous reviews of this hotel it seemd to be a suitable choice for our four day stay. The reality was......just excellent. From walking out of the station to see it directly across the Grand Canal we felt we had made the right choice and once inside the experience just got better. The staff were superb, being both friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was a treat, especially when taken outside at the canalside. Accommodation was of a good three star standard, but the staff were five star. We will be returning to Venice and we will definately be returning to this hotel. To all the staff....a big thank you!!!
