My girlfriend and I just returned from a five night stay in Venice. She was on conference and I was tagging along. Given that we were ravelling on an academic conference budget we were worried about what kind of room we could get for $230/night in Venice as many hotels are much more expensive. In my search for a suitable hotel last April, I came across the Ca' del Campo Hotel and read the reviews and ended up booking. We are so happy we did. This hotel is in between two major attractions in the city, the Ponte di Rialto and the Piazza San Marco which makes it incredibly well located. The Hotel is a corner building and some rooms look over the canal - our room did (#4) and had a large window which opened. The room was well furnished and the air conditioning was great. The bed was a little firmer than our pillow top back home but totally sleep worthy - extra pillows were available and the room had a pretty cool bathroom. The TV however only had three channels, the shower stall was small and the wifi (€15 for 24h access) did not always have a great signal in our room - the lobby however was just outside our door and a wonderful parlour was available to sit and surf the web.

We were delighted that a breakfast was included - it is a light breakfast - good coffee, meat cheese, croissants and yogurt etc... It was a pleasant way to start our days. When we enquired about a beach the hotel informed us that we had complementary access to a cabin on Lido (€20 Value) at the Bagni Alboroni the concierge was very helpful with finding routes and schedules for the Vaporetto.

We were very pleased, would recommend this hotel, and would return. A great value hotel.

Stayed here for 4 days in June, excellent value for money, well situated for nearly all the sights to see and within minutes of San Marco Square. The staff were friendly and courteous and extremely helpful when it came to helping us find our way around Venice and how best to travel around. Room and breakfast very good indeed. For directions from the Marco Polo airport, turn left as you come out of the arrivals building and head for the Water Buses (about 7 minute walk) and get ticket to San Marco square (about 35 mins) - 15 euro pp one way or 27 return. Go into San Marco square and look for the clock tower in the right had corner of square, go through archway underneath it and follow lane, then take it first right, follow this lane with Chiesa di St Zulien on your left, turn left and follow the round to the right, hotel is on the right opposite a newspaper stand. Have a great time ... we did.

We stayed in Venice in May 2012 for 3 nights. This hotel is in a great location, just behind St Marks Square & 5min walk from the Rialto Bridge. We had a triple room which was great as there was actually two rooms with a door between. The room was very clean & the staff were helpful & very friendly. The breakfast room on the top floor of the hotel was lovely with windows in the roof that open out to views of the rooftops of Venice. There are heaps of restaurants in the vicinity that won't disappoint. The hotel was also very quiet, we didn't get any street noise.

Stayed for 3 nights in May. We stayed in the standard room which was very nice and very clean. If you stuck your head out the window you could see the small canal right nearby. Very easy to find the hotel at the far side of San Marco straight up a small ally and the first right, hotel just before the small canal and bridge. Breakfast was filling and fresh pastry's were delicious. We always sat by the windows which overlooked the fabulous rooftops of Venice. Would stay here again friendly staff.

We loved the location of this hotel! It's directly between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto and you're only a few minutes walk from the major attractions. There are also a lot of cute little cafes and restaurants around that offer you a variety of choices and price points for meals.

The room offered plenty of space for us and was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was always fresh. All in all, it was good quality for the price.

The only downside is that for security reasons, the front door of the hotel is always locked so you have to get buzzed in. They typically only have 1 person working the front desk at a time so if they are away from the desk when you come back you sometimes have to wait a few minutes to get it. It'd be nice if they could give you a key to the front door or a code or something so you can left yourself in in case you're in a rush or it's a little chilly out.
