“Average Venice Hotel, Good Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2012

Venice is a very hard city to find anything decent for a reasonable price. This hotel has a good location between San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. It's slightly cheaper than other places with a similar quality, so that's a plus. I would probably stay here again only because Venice is bereft of anything above average at less that €300 a night. My advice: don't go to Venice, it's overpriced, crowded and wet.

We had five wonderful days at Locanda La Corte in April 2012. Situation was excellent, not too far from anywhere, but in a really nice quiet area. We too visited the wonderful Osteria next door.
Hotel staff and the manager very helpful at all times, and very friendly. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed, overlooking the very pretty courtyard. We arrived by plane and took the Alilaguna to the Fondamente Nove, from where we found it a fairly easy walk (ten minutes), though it was in fact three bridges to cross and not two as the website says.
Altogether a memorable holiday - we even bumped into the delightful Francesco da Mosto - twice!
We would certainly stay at this hotel again, if it isn't full up with happy returning visitors.

This hotel was a lovely way to start our 2-week vacation in Italy. It's quiet, cozy and well-run. Our room was very comfortable, with a beautiful view of one of the many canals. We enjoyed breakfast every morning, with a nice choice of food and bevereages. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. The manager took care to make sure we knew how to get around, what there was to do, and in general made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The staff were all fluent in English, though they tolerated our poor Italian. All in all, this was a great place to stay.

We chose a junior suite with a canal view as a treat to start our vacation, and we enjoyed looking out at the canal traffic when we were in our room. The room itself was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed and a desk for the computer. Wireless internet coverage was a little spotty; we learned that the walls of the old palazzo were thick and the signal didn't always penetrate. It worked well enough for us. The bathroom was decent, not cramped at all.

Venice is confusing and busy, but the hotel is tucked away in a quiet corner away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The sights of the city are close by; Rialto Bridge is no more than a 10-minute walk, and Piazza San Marco and the cathedral are about 10 minutes in another direction. It's close by the hospital, and we loved walking past the ambulance boats parked in the canal when we were out walking. The hotel was a quiet refuge after being around the crowds and action of the city.

This hotel had just the right touch of history, comfort , quiet and action for us. I would definitely return.

Room Tip: Our canal-view room was worth the extra price.
