Avoid if possible if your first time to Venice, Italy. Taxi cost about 20.00 Euro from Venice, and about 12.00 Euro from Mestre train station to the Hotel. Hilton Shuttel 8.00 Euro per person r/t to venice. Room is too hot at about 26.0 C to 28.0 C. When ask to turn A/C the lady from the the desk told me to just open the window. REally? I took 3 shower that night. Very uncomfortable, shower was broken, towels were old (been used so many times), and a list go on.
Anyway, if you are trying to save $$ money DON'T. Get a hotel at Venice (yes its expensive), but convenience or at Mestre-Venice train station just across the train station. Mestre to Venice cost about 1.00 Euro.

Lovely spacious room, could hear no noise from other guests, very comfortable and quite a large bathroom. Even though the room was very warm at 26C, we could NOT turn the A/C on. Complaining to Management made no difference as it is hotel policy that the A/C is NOT turned on until their summer. We were able to open the window, but the cool air was negated by the traffic noise from the adjacent motorway.

That said, We loved the location, but a bit of a challenge to find using public transport. Bus Number 15 indeed runs from the Airport to within 500M of the hotel. The journey time from the airport is around 30mins and you MUST get off at the 2nd Bus Stop on Via Beccaria. The hotel is located on Della Fonte, which is 50M from the bust stop on the right. You have to purchase pre paid travel cards, we got ours from a kiosk at the airport E1.30 each, an absolute bargain, but it could have been even more advantageous, with a weekend travel card.

If you intend to use the public transport (which includes the Water Buses of Venice) then get a card that will cover the duration of you're stay, these are sold in durations of hours, ie 12, 24, 48, 72 etc. You will not only save a fortune, but have the comfort of always having a valid ticket. Due to the european culture of siesta's, we could NOT find a shop open in the afternoon to get a top-up. So we took a chance for our first trip into Venice on the Number 6 Bus. Now, this is where the challenge begins.

We NEVER took the same route back from Venice on the Number 6 bus, so finding the correct stop to disembark from became impossible. I'm pretty certain they operate time of day routing and even different routing depending the the day. We stayed Friday to Sunday and each day the No.6 either started or ended at a different stop from the hotel - Hilarious.

To this end we found the locals most helpful and we spent the evenings chatting and drinking in the local bar. We chatted in English and they chatted in Italian. The family run Restaurant on the corner of Della Fonte was excellent.

My last comment is the prices in Venice - WOW. E7.50 for a beer or E5.00 for a coffee compared to E3.50 and E1.50 in the local bar. If you're on a budget you can buy takeaways from a selection of deli's.

The Number 6 bus goes from the road called Beccaria to Venice Central Bus Station

Room Tip: request a room NOT facing thge motorway, at least then you can open a window to cool down

This hotel is not on the Venetian island but on the mainland so you must travel a few miles to catch a boat to Venice. It is, however, located near a shopping area and there is a couple of restaurants within walking distances.. My room was clean and comfortable but nothing spectacular about it. Staff was friendly. I would use this hotel again.

The hotel was ok. We did not expect too much since it was a good deal at EUR 80 during summer. Hotel itself is already old. Had a secure car parking. Since it is located outside of Venice it does offer a shuttle service at EUR 8.00/person for return tickets.
The hotels staff has blended in to the typical unfriendliness we saw all over Venice. Compared to other parts of Italy, that also have a lot of tourists, Venice is a ripoff. On the last evening we asked for a local restaurant we could reach by walking. Only 5 minutes away there was this little restaurant full of locals. For three starters, four main courses, four soft drinks, half a litre wine and four coffees we spent a total of EUR 60.00!! That was definitely a bargain and great food. For a next stay, probably will stay at the all seasons hotel just accross.

This was a great place to stay if you want to be off of the island of Venice. Buses are a little walk aways, great local restraunt nearby and a fresh market and small store a short drive or longer walk.

Everything was very clean and staff (minus one lady) were very helpful.

Negatives: The elevators are very very tiny and if you are using points you get no aminities. Most places we have used points still give the same aminities (free breakfast, free internet service) to us when we travel.

Overall I would stay here again.
