We stayed here for two nights in October 2017, in two superior rooms. One room had a canal view the other a large private patio. Both rooms were beautiful. The walls are covered with a tapestry material, the linens are exquisite, the bathrooms you could live in, every modern convenience you could want. Rooms are very quiet, even with bells tolling.

The location is very convenient to arriving by train or bus, just a short walk, although over a bridge or two. Very good restaurants nearby.

Lovely breakfast in the morning. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room in this hotel.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel is!! The room was so luxurious, the location was amazing, and the staff were SO friendly and helpful!! The BED was SO comfortable too! I had been warned that beds and pillows were very hard in Italy, but both the bed and the pillows were as comfy as can be!! The breakfast ALONE was worth the price of the stay! What more can I say? Stay here if you get the chance!!!

Room Tip: We had room 451. The view could have been better, but the room was great!

This hotel is close to the Train station. Room was very small room but well decorated. Very cute room! Fabric (instead of paint or wall paper) on the walls was unique and beautiful. Room does come with an electric kettle (for coffee/tea/hot water) and mini fridge. Wi-Fi worked well.

Piazza San Marco is about 25 min. away by walking but there are so many pretty buildings, shops, and unique stuffs to see on the way there, you really don't mind the walk at all as long as weather cooperates.
You can also take water transportation to Piazza San Marco. One-way ticket (good for 75 min.) water bus fare is €7.50 (November, 2017 price).

Breakfast was nice. Enough selections to choose from although I thought it was odd that they pre-cook eggs (in various ways - sunny side up, omelets, and etc.) and leave it out on the buffet table instead of making it on-demand. Staffs were attentive and courteous.

Arriving at the Hotel Papadopoli was a welcome oasis from the hustle, bustle, and lack of hospitality my husband and I experienced in Rome. We booked this hotel through a suggestion from Costco Travel and didn't really know what to expect. Hotel Papadopoli made our honeymoon what we had hoped for!

Location: Very good. The hotel is located only a short walk from the train station and the Piazzle Roma which makes it very accessible from either train or taxi. This is something to consider since so many flights out of Venice leave in the early morning hours, and navigating the city at 4am can be daunting (and very expensive via water taxi.) St Marco's square is about a half hour walk from the hotel at a brisk pace. There is also a beautiful garden located behind the hotel with a small children's playground and walking paths.

Rooms/Hotel: Impeccable. Beautifully decorated in a traditional Venetian style. Bathrooms were modern and large. The hotel itself was very clean, and eating breakfast in the beautiful winter garden/conservatory area each morning was an added bonus. Rooms were warm, there is air conditioning available but we did not use it due to the winter season.

Food: The included breakfasts each morning were amazing, including a huge spread of fresh fruit, cheese, pastries, meats, coffee, tea, bruschetta, veggies, smoothies, panna cotta.. I can't rave enough. The attached restaurant was also very good, I had a seafood plate one night that was deliciously fresh. Servers were friendly and helpful.

Hospitality: Amazing as well! Very friendly and helpful staff. The cleaning staff were very friendly, even knocking on the door in the evening to check if we'd like anything before settling in for the night. Upon check in we were given a booklet on Venice city events, a map where the concierge pointed out sight seeing opportunities and walking times, and two tickets to a Peggy Guggenheim museum exhibit as well. After checking into the hotel we set out on the town, and arrived back to a bottle of champagne with berry-filled wine glasses to celebrate our honeymoon. Front desk staff helped us navigate questions regarding check out and confirming airport transfers, as well as booking us a complimentary water taxi to Murano island.

Overall: Wonderful experience. Beautiful hotel. Good location for those catching earlier flights. Very friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond. Delicious breakfasts!

Fantastic location in Venice. Easy walk from the Santa Lucia railway station & close to bus station for airport transfers as well as being very close to the Grande Canal. Situated in the Santa Croce quarter, it was very easy to access all neighbourhoods & tourist attractions.
