Our family of three has spent 4 days in Venice and this hotel transported us in a different era of glamour, etiquette and attention to detail. From the front desk outstanding staff with their elegance and supportive approach to the dining room staff that seemed to float during service and made things just happen for you . The decor, service, location- away from the crowds but still surrounded by great restaurants and close to train station while situated on a beautiful canal - all in all an amazing experience !

Room Tip: While small as European standards are different the room had all amenities and elegance you would expect from a luxury suite

A beautiful, Italian style Sofitel, with lovely staff, well fitted out rooms, with plenty of comforts and a sumptuous breakfast, with some rooms overlooking the canal. (Hint- just be careful opening the shutters around dusk in the warmer months. Mosquitoes love to visit!). The hotel is situated on a canal but away from the huge crowds. However, it is only a two minute walk from the ferries that take you everywhere you want to go and less than 10 minutes from the rail station. There are plenty of magnificent restaurants nearby as you stroll around the canals. Just look out for the Tripadvisor signs and you can't go wrong. If ever we are lucky enough to go back to Venice, we would definitely stay here again.

Just a great hotel and staff. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and staff could not have been more accommodating. Xavier was a great Food and Beverage manager. All the staff was very friendly and could not have been more pleasant. Bed and room was very comfortable and elegant.

Great hotel for cruisers visiting Rome

My wife and I recently ended a cruise in Venice, and wanted to stay over for some extra days. We booked the Hotel Papadopoli Venezia in the Santa Croce quarter, and we were stunned by just how wonderful the stay was.

This hotel is less than a two-minute stroll from Piazzale Roma, over a short arch bridge with ramps on one side for rolling suitcases, baby strollers or wheelchairs. But despite its proximity to Venice’s bustling transportation hub, the hotelseems to be in a serene world apart. It’s nestled in its own quiet, local-neighborhood world, tucked between a small park and two canals.Three excellent local restaurants are adjacent, and that’s not counting the world-class restaurant and bar inside the hotel.

The hotel staff at the front desk went far beyond the ordinary in their helpfulness with our transfers from the ship’s dock and later to the airport, and the concierge gave us ideas for our Venice visit that only a local could think of.(Example:Venice has masks for sale everywhere, but have you ever visited a studio where an artisan hand-crafts an amazing variety of masks right in front of you? If not, visit ‘Casanova’ on Calle del Cristo in the San Polo quarter!)

This is not a budget hotel, but we thought the price was well within a median range for Venice. But the value for our money was exceptional. HIGHLY recommended!

Carting heavy luggage around Venice up and down bridges while trying to find your room in steamy weather amongst throngs of people is one of the least enjoyable parts of the Venice experience.

Hotel Papadopoli does away with the hassle. It is only 2 minutes from the bus station, taxis & trains, and easy walk from car parks yet it offers an elegant and traditional Venice canal experience with welcoming service from friendly staff.

Rooms were recently renovated and are stunning. We had two rooms and both had a lovely canal view. The hotels bar and restaurants were larger spaces than most of Venice and quality and service were excellent. There were also lots of terrific restaurants and bars just a few minutes from the hotel.

Overall this was a fantastic find and we would stay here again for sure.
