Came here after a year and was not disappointed. Very good food, very good service and a good location slightly off the beaten track. Well worth looking for - just round the corner from the Duomo.

We used to go there years ago when the place was named "sapore" and we ate wonderful fish dishes at a reasonable price.
We were back on Saturday night, beginning of November.
We had such a terrible starter of assorted "cicchetti" warmed on the microwave.
Main dishes were a "seppie al nero" (squids) which looks like charcoal, small pieces and definitely no taste, with cold polenta, and assorted gummy vegetables with gummy cheese for my wife.
We'll never go back.

teotit8,

Sandro

We went to Bacaro Padovano after reading Tripadvisor reviews and were not impressed at all. The welcome was warm and friendly, the decor comfortably modern, Aurora's help with the menu was first class but there it ended. The food was decidedly average; my Beef Carpaccio was ok but the other starter of chicken salad was very bland and boring. My "typical" dish of chicken in red wine sauce was a dry Italian version of Coq au Vin without the tasty bits of bacon and onion. Very disappointing. The Beef Tagliata was a good piece of meat but with no trace of the promised rosemary marinade. The crostata of almond and lemon dry and uninspiring. Good service; shame about the food. Don't bother to go there.

We had such a delightful night in this restaurant. We had been staying in an apartment all week in Padua and wanted a final italian meal. The food is excellent and they made pasta with cheese and tomato off the menu. The atmosphere is great and the people are so kind. Thankyou for the Grappa and making us so happy :)

What a nice evening we spent in the Bacaro! We were looking for another restaurant, but when we walked by the Bacaro, we liked the looks, checked TripAdvisor and stayed. The right decision. The place is really comfortable, the service was outstanding, and the menu had interesting food combinations based on local dishes. If you go to Padova, make sure to try out this place!
