The Al Santo is a basic, no frills hotel, but being just a stone's throw away from the Basilica San Antonio gives it a prime location.

You can easily reach the hotel from the train station by bus or metro, although there is a short walk to the property no matter which you choose. A taxi will take you to the door for about E10 from the station. The hotel is located on a very long street that will take you straight to the heart of Padua's historic centre in about 10 minutes on foot.

The hotel is welcoming, with friendly staff. There are only 2 floors and an elevator serves both, but there are steps to negotiate on each floor, regardless of the elevator. I had a single room, which really was a single room, with a single bed, but there was still good space. Noise is a big issue. Whoever was above me either is the size of an elephant wearing jack boots, or it's just that the sound proofing is non existent. Probably the latter. Linens are clean, but the beds are a little hard.

The bathrooms are a good size, with a shower stall as well as a bidet, basin, toilet and towels are clean and fresh. Soap and shampoo are provided. The hot water pressure is very good and indeed the hot water is VERY hot, so be careful! Makes getting cold water to drink also a little tricky. There's no water, tea, coffee, kettle etc provided, although there is an empty fridge.

WIFI is very good throughout the hotel and there is TV in each room, but I don't know what it offers.

There is a full restaurant on site, but the breakfast area is not part of that. The breakfast is very good, with everything you'd want, although the toaster is pretty useless and takes several runs to get even slightly crisp toast and the only hot food are boiled eggs. Coffee drinks are made to order. The fresh fruits varied every day, which was nice. Alas, the cleanliness of the breakfast room is slightly questionable and the same discarded paper napkins under the tables were there every one of my four mornings. Clearly some more attention would be needed.

A good rate for a good, basic hotel for all Padova has to offer.

My boyfriend and I went here for a weekend. Good position in the center of the city and near the Cathedral (next to the bus and tram station), very good food and clean rooms. Friendly and kind staff.
I recommend it!

Charming, albeit modest hotel. Spotlessly clean, very welcoming. Went with colleagues who have stayed there before and I can see why. Situated 3 minutes away from St Anthony basilica and easy walk to all historic places. Plenty of places to eat along this street and around the basilica.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Very good location just a short walk to all the historic places and near the shops in the historic centre..
This is only a 3 star small hotel, but it is very clean, has air conditioning, very friendly and best of all the breakfast was good. The fruit salad was fresh ( not tined) the croissants were fresh and warn ( not out of packets) and the coffee was fresh ( there was an urn of coffee but on request I was made a proper coffee . Breakfast was served in a pretty small courtyard.. What more can you ask. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It made our stay in Padua . Thank you hotel al Santo

Room Tip: Say if you want a room with view of the santo

I was visiting Padua for a day coming from Verona. I booked a single room. The room offers plenty of space. You have a couch with a table plus your bed. You have a TV and there is free wifi. The bathroom has everything and they have the breakfast included. Perfectly located to visit the city. It's about 10 minutes walk from the Prato della Valle. We can't ask for a better location. It's a 25 minutes walk from the train station and roughly 10 minutes by taxi (is costs me 7,50 euros).
