Recently visited for a ski trip, the hotel is very handy for the chair lift, literally 5mins walk, we stayed in room A10 which sleeps 6, rooms fine, access from main road.
only other access is down a very steep drive.
Breakfast included and ok, nothing fancy but perfectly ok.
Staff very friendly and helpful, I would query the fact that you have to pay for the wellness area and the charge seems high given the facilities, but hey-ho you`re on holiday, we only used it once, we were able to use the showers in the changing areas after skiing on the last day
a 10/15minute walk to town on a night
wifi in central areas and if you are located close to reception

Room Tip: aim for a room on 3rd floor

Just returned from a long weekend at Hotel Tavernier. This is a lovely old hotel situated a few mins walk from the main Ski lift, and a ten mins walk from the village centtre. We were looked after by Allesandra and Ellie who work incredibly hard, and go the extra mile to ensure guests have a good stay. Accomodation is basic but very clean, fresh towels every day and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, for a small charge the chef will make omlettes or boiled eggs.
There is a two course dinner menu available for around 20 € which was decent value. Bottled only beers, with a good choice of wine from around 13€ a bottle. We enjoyed a post ski drink sat in front of the open fire, with the familys dog for company,
The resort itself was great for a long weekend, but skiing would be a little limited for a week. There were plenty of excellent resteraunts that were good value. Apre ski was quiet, but a nice touch was a free buffet put on by many of the bars until mid evening.
In summary we had a great weekend staying in a friendly family run hotel, we look forward to returning soon!

We were a family of four in a family-room. The room was very low standard and smelled heavily of fungis. Very outdated overall. However, friendly and helpful staff as well as a very nice lounge changes my grade to a 2. But even the most helpful staff and nicest fire does not change the fact that this room was truly horrible.

A classic alpine hotel, the Tavernier sits alongside the river just downhill from the Dolonne lift. It is fairly small, but clean, warm and friendly. The rooms are a good size (other than the shower cubicles!) and there is plenty of high pressure hot water available. The breakfast rates as 'OK' for a ski hotel (coffee not great) and the bar is simple - you'll probably want to go out for anything other than a casual beer. Don't be lured in by the spa, which is largely out of order, but if you want clean and warm accommodation in a reasonable location (great for Dolonne lift, less good for town centre), it's definitely a good value proposition. Great wi-fi in reception but not in room.

The location is nice, b-fast OK. the river is noisy but the room noise isolation is pretty good. The major problem is with the parking which is limited, and only small cars can get in. The spa area should be nice, but it was close during the visit

Room Tip: The first floor (where the big balcony and the lobby) seems to be a nice option
