Stayed here as part of self guided Mont Blanc trip. Lovely setting and although a little old fashioned, a really nice room with welcome bath. Food very average in the deal we had and a bit like school meals. Staff seemed very pressured and were obsessed with making sure that every drink was paid for there and then before actually worrying about service. A shame because others here seemed to have enjoyed it. We-and our friends-were maybe unlucky. Just flt stressed on our departure because of the way the staff made us feel!

Edelweiss1953, Proprietario at Hotel Edelweiss, responded to this reviewResponded 11 August 2017

Dear Pete H,
thankyou for finding the time to review our hotel even if though it doesn't seem like our hotel at all (as a matter of fact your name doesn't match any of the guests we've had so far, but we might be mistaking or you might have used a different name..).
I understand you didn't enjoy your one night stay with us and for this I apologise, our main goal is to make people feel welcome and failing at it is always a regret.
One of the things that we are always highly praised for though, even on many reviews, is our staff for both their manners and work therefore I have to strongly contest what you say about them pressuring you for payments that, for the record, they are not even allowed to collect! Payments of all sort are always cashed at reception with hotel management.
As per our meal, we offer a choice between two different types of pasta or soup and a main course of meat with vegetables on the side and salads all followed by a home made dessert and we can also prepare vegetarian/vegan options at the last minute. I find it rather reductive to compare this to a school meal, especially considering that we are a 2 stars, but I accept that not all tastes are the same.
This been said, if you have the chance, come visit again, we are convinced that this was just a one off unlucky event. I can assure you that stays at the Edelweiss are not bad at all.
Kind regards
Diletta, hotel management

I stayed here as part of a self guided hiking tour of the Mt. Blanc region. It was super clean, comfortable, and the staff was very helpful in arranging a cab for us that evening. (we were tired of hiking!) The room and amenities were lovely and the breakfast was a nice spread with delicious croissants. We would go back!

Such a wonderful place to stay. It's a B&B but the rooms are immaculate. Family run.. and such a wonderful family. My luggage broke and the lady at reception was so helpful in getting a new suitcase to travel home. Bar is good .. very good prices and friendly. TV room. Usual ski breakfast. I would definitely visit again

Cracking little hotel. We always look for basic accommodation and a good location. This ticks both boxes, the rooms are functional and are warm with plenty of hot water. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the cable car (hire and store your kit at the top).

Service was superb, this included collecting and returning luggage to coach collection point in the middle of town. Was also a massive bonus to have our rooms until we left at 4PM.

Breakfast was ok, no more than that, although there was no shortage of food, it was limited and there was no hot option.

Would certainly go back.

Just returned from a short break, staying at the family run Hotel Edelweiss. The hotel was very clean, centrally located and the staff friendly & helpful. The only negatives were the fairly bland continental breakfast and characterless lounge.
