“Very good hotel and the staff loves animals”
Reviewed 26 June 2012

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night during our onward journey to Sofia. That is my husband and I, our son of 20, our RR dog Indy and our cat Siena. We stayed in the family room 101, which has a separate bedroom for the children. We really appriciated the large terrace. We found the room quiet and comfortable, the staff extremely helpful.
Delicious breakfast that we could enjoy together on the terrace of our room. Too bad we were only passing through, because Torino is a beautiful city. Should we ever visit Torino again, we will book this hotel again.

Room Tip: For a family of 4 choose room 101

I have stayed in a dozen hotels in Turin. It's a city I rate very high, but not for it's hotels. the rating and descriptions of the Best Western Crimea (12/129 as I write) surprised me though. Most particularly the positive comments about the location. I find it neither charmingly, not conveniently located (despite the fact that it's the hotel I have ever stayed that was closest to my local work place). It's a stiff walk through heavy traffic to the city centre, the rooms I have seen were very small. In fact, the whole place, inside and outside is fairly cramped. The price is OK for Turin, which is quite an expensive city for accommodation. It has very little personality. But the main reason to write for me is to counter the people who argue that this is a good location. It's neither in town nor out of town, where some fantastic accommodation can be found too. If you travel to Turin as a tourist, choose either drop dead centre (it is a surprisingly lovely city) or well out of town.

We stayed here recently for a family wedding and found the rooms quiet and comfortable, the staff extremely helpful, including providing food for two small hungry children at a weekend when the kitchen is closed and letting the group of us effectively take over the lounge area to catch up with each other's news and plans.
The home made cakes and tarts for breakfast, poached pears in wine and range of gluten free options, together with a rage of ham, cheese and salami, meant that there was no need to bring in anything for those with special diets, and the rest of us could really enjoy the daily specials.
Car parking beneath the hotel is available for an extra cost: well worth it if you do not need to use the car and do not want to worry about paying for street parking.
One of our group asked for a kettle and tea things to make tea in the room and this was provided instantly.
The location is convenient for the tow centre and near local bars and restaurants, but quiet at night.

This was a GREAT hotel because the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are very nice with large bathrooms with ample countertops, and the location is perfect right on the edge of downtown Turino.

Room Tip: Could ask for hardwoods. We had a carpeted room, but I saw some hardwoods which had probably been r...

In many travels, we have seldom found such welcoming and persistently friendly staff as the Hotel Crimea in Torino. Especially helpful was a Danish-italian bellman who went out of his way to suggest excellent local restaurants, bake savory cakes for breakfast, and stand ready to help with local tourism suggestions. We stayed for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed its close location to a city park along the Po River where a small herd of joggers were running each morning. If you like daily exercise, this is a great location.
Our room was quiet and well furnished with a very comfortable king size bed. There was cable TV with 3 English language stations.
The hotel is only one block from a bus line where you could board a bus that went in to the heart of the city. A very short walk (mild climb) led up to the Cistercian Abbey which had a splendid view of the city and an excellent museum om mountaineering.
