The location of the hotel is good, as many remarks on this site notice. And that is a good thing about the hotel. It is actually the best thing to say about it.
At arrival, the reception lady was courteous and friendly. Unfortunately the hotel has other people staffing the reception, and friendliness and servicemindedness are not two of their hallmarks.
The internet - which you had to pay 9€ for - rarely worked, and when one contacted the reception the answer was: "I can see no problems. I think your equipment doesn't work"... Strangely enough, the only place where my iPad couldn't log on to the wifi, was at the hotel. This fact didn't disturb the rude receptionist. And the same was the case with all other members of the group staying at the hotel...
The hotel has very thin walls, enabling you not just to hear the street, which is not as quiet as the hotel would like you to think, but also to hear every time your neighbour flushes the toilet...
The hot water in the shower was hot in the evening, but only luke warm in the morning: not really good enough.
Luke warm was also the temperature of the morning cappuccino, and although I expect very little of Italian breakfasts, I do expect them to make a decent espresso or cappuccino... I just gave up on the hotel at this point.
As previously noticed, the location was great. But there are many other options in the area. I'll recommend to go for them in stead.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel...

The hotel is run by the Ferreira family. They are very nice people and their service is excellent. It is a small hotel, rooms are what you expect for the category and are clean and functional. The breakfast menu is ample. The location is ideal: very central but in a quiet side street. Highly recommended.

Hotel location is perfect a stones throw away from the via dante and easy to get to from the metro. Rooms are fine clean and tidy , the breakfast I have to admit was very good for continental and for a city centre hotel the price is right . Staff are very friendly and helpful , however the only reason this got a 3 out of 5 is the air conditioning in our room it was non existant and made it imposible to sleep or just sit in the room as it was unbearable due to the heat , the manger was very helpful and did his best but to no avail . I would stay here again but would have to have the room with fully working air con as you really do need it .

A small hotel with friendly people, the furniture is older but it is clean, very close to the Milan Dome, the shopping street and close to lot of restaurants.Very good for business trips or couples weekend. On a scale from 1 - 10, we give them an 9.

We are from Vancouver, B.C.
After spending two weeks on a cruise boat,we went on a train trip from Venice to Milan. Throughout the trip, we stayed in many 3 star hotels. Compared to the other hotels we stayed in over our trip, we found the Genius Hotel being our favourite hotel. We enjoyed this hotel because it offered all our basic needs efficiently and in a very genius way. The location was fantastic, being near to many main tourist attractions and all types of shops. My daughter wasn't feeling well on the last night of our stay, so we asked for some salt water so she could rinse her throat. Every time we saw the hotel manager, she would sincerely ask how she was feeling. Another example of great service was when the night-shift receptionist went all out to help our needs...

I sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, basic, friendly, and convenient place to stay in Milan.
