“Excellent suggestion from Tripadvisor travellers!!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Included this church into our itinerary after reading great reviews at TripAdvisor and must say it was worth a visit. This place has free entry with some really magnificent paintings. You can click pictures but without any flash.

“A wonderful surprise”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

When we found that to visit The Last Supper needed trickets booked months in advance we asked the concierge at the hotel for somewhere to go and this is where she suggested. From outside it looks like many other Milanese churches but inside ...!

It is truly beautiful with many magnificent paintings and decorations. I would strongly recommend that if you have an hour or so to spare you visit this hidden gem- You will not regret it.

“Absolutely Amazing Artwork!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Even if you're not an art enthusiast, this church is absolutely worth a visit. I visited right after leaving the Last Supper mainly because of the high rating on Trip Advisor. Entrance to the church is free and you can take as many photos as you wish. If you're in the area, be sure to check this church out as you will be blown away by the several pieces of art inside.

“Hidden Jewel”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

This is an out of the way hidden jewel in Milan that is a must visit. Beautiful frescoes on many of the walls plus an impressive altar. make sure to enter the back room where so many of the frescoes are painted.

“A Very Special Find”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Checked into an AirBNB apartment and host Stefano recommended Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore as being better than the Duomo.

It is an absolute gem. Virtually every square metre of the interior of this apparently non-descript building is decorated and graphically illustrates the strong relationships between the people and their religion and the nuns and their vocation.

This is a great artwork created by the people, not by an ultra-rich grand duke or potentate.

The archaeological museum that shares its site is also worth the 2 euro admission. Very interesting and the debate by the archaeologists as they interpreted the very long history of the site was fascinating.

This is the "must see first" in Milan and entry is free, but you should leave a nice donation to help with the conservation.
