We stopped in Milan for one night to quickly see some of the city highlights. I chose the Michelangelo Hotel because of its near proximity to the Milano Centrael Train Station. It's just a short walk, exit the train station to the left and Hotel Michelangelo is one block beyond the taxi stand. Need help with your luggage? There are private (entrepreneurs) porters who will take your luggage to the front door of the hotel. (Agree on a price before the trip).

The hotel reception was gracious and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and European in size. The room was clean and linen and towels were very nice.
The hotel was equipped with smoke detectors. Complementary water and soft drinks in the refrigerator. Free wifi. The air conditioner worked great.

We visited in August and most of the nearby restaurants had closed for the month.
There were several smaller cafes located along the east side of the train station.
We elected to eat twice in the hotel restaurant and....as expected...the meals were excellent, but pricey. The breakfast buffet offered an excellent variety of selections to include pasta and all the expected breakfast offerings. (Level -1) The buffet was 15 Euros each, if not included with your room. A reasonable way to start the day.

Sites of interest are a short taxi ride from the hotel. 10 -15 Euros.

If you're traveling by train this is a great location and far enough away from the train station to be comfortable and quiet. Highly Recommended.

An ok mid-range hotel, rather big and somewhat impersonal. Affordable and well located near Milan Central station for those who stay for a night or two on their way somewhere else. Spacious rooms with complimentary water and soft drinks in the fridge. Nice bathroom with hot tub and well functional Wifi. Breakfast with a generous selection of choices, but expensive unless you have it included in the price. Make sure to get a room on higher floor for a nice view of the rooftops.

As you walk into the main hall head left and you will see a Piazza Luigi di Savoia sign go straight out, across a taxi rank compound and you will see it straight ahead albeit a small pale sign on the left side of a plain looking building. The rooms are adequate, wifi ok. Breakfast ok. Place is clean. Not really near anything except the train station. If you stand at the main front doors of the station you will see a large semi-circle plaza with a lot of men lingering around. Hold tight to all your things and be aware of what is going on around you - this is not a good area to be in. On the tip of the arc across the road you will see a bus stop where the hop on/hop off bus stops. Driver takes both cash and credit cards. Location is only good if you want easy access to the train for the airport etc.,

The hotel room is very spacious. Complimentary water bottles and coke cans are provided to quench your thirst. The room has Air Conditioning also. The bathroom is big and hygienic. The breakfast buffet is good. The fruits and dessert variety is delicious. The fresh orange juice machine is a hit among all the guests. They do not provide complimentary omelettes for breakfast. They only have boiled eggs. The market is at walking distance.
