We had made a reservation half a year before arrival, due to quite a good price, and that bad reviews. But, when we arrived we were dissapointed badly. Upon arrival, barely English-speaking receptionist (which you would expect in "3-stars-hotel") told us that we would not have any breafast (for whole stay) and as a refund for 8 breakfast (2pax, 4nights) we got only 14€ (which does not even cover the city tax for the 4-nights stay), whithout any apology for inconveniences; literally, she to told us to contact our booking servis and complain there instead. During nights there was a terrible noise as if someone tried to move the furniture of his room (in the middle of night, of course), not counting the constant door-smashing that made whole building shake like during an earthquake. On the other hand, the room was not so bad. Bedclothes were clean and made every day, the same with towels, a fridge in the room was handy (namely without breakfast), Wifi was not that bad either - sometimes the signal was weaker and the internet slower but still on. The hotel is sort of far-fetched from the city center, however, in quite silent neiborhood, and the metro station is right in front of the hotel.
So the hotel is definitely not of the 3-stars rating, it is 2-stars at best. The only thing that is 3-stars is the city tax.

Room Tip: Do not go there

There was no hot water during our entire journey and the staff had no idea when and if it will be fixed. It was really unprofessional of them to not let us know about this issue in advance, since it was clear that they have been knowing about it for a while. Even though they tried finding another room for us in one of the neighbouring hotels, everything was booked or incredibly expensive, so we ended up staying at Gala. The hotel itself is in an old apartment building, high ceilings, 2 elevators: none of them working. The heaters are not working, so in each room there is an air conditioner unit which brings some heat, but not enough to heat up the entire room. Even though they made the beds and changed the towels daily we still managed to find hairs and dust on the bed cover and sheets. An overall disapointment. The only 2 positive things were the extremely low price of the room and the location, which is right near metro station Marche, on the number 5 metro line (purple line). Nonetheless, I wouldn't recommend booking a room here.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Gala for four nights and were very pleased with the friendly, accommodating staff and a large, very clean room. Breakfasts were very nice; there were fried eggs, a meat, croissants , coffee and apples--a bargain for 4 euros! Also, it is a stone's throw from the Marche metro(this is a new line and may not be listed on your subway map but can be easily caught by transfer from line 3 at the Zara stop) and there is a wonderful, reasonably priced restaurant right next door! This is not a fancy hotel but a welcoming, homey one. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and satisfied. We'd definitely stay here again! Nina and Ray

Room Tip: We were given a nice, quiet room; have no info on other locations.

Nothing positive. The beds is hospital stretchers - high about 70 cm. Your legs hanging. Sleep like on a trampoline. Bathroom is from the time of Leonardo da Vinci - the sink was clogged and the shower is unusable. The cheap is expensive
The next day we moved to another hotel, a little more expensive, but with many amenities, where we paid twice lower city tax.

Okay, there are some bad reviews on here but we found it a lot better than people on here suggest. I wouldn't expect the world for the price. The guy on reception didn't speak a word of English and we had a great time with him. The language barrier didn't interrupt a nice evening of wine and beer. Metro station right outside so ideal for getting into Central Milan or the San Siro. Wifi was good. Had a fridge and sky Italia tv. Breakfast was only €4. Bed wasn't the most comfortable I've ever stayed in but I was that tired that I slept like a baby and woke up feeling fine so not a problem for me. The bathroom was very specious and even had things like new razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes etc all there for you just in case you didn't bring any. Even complimentary slippers! Overall I was very impressed.
