We stayed in this hotel for two nights this summer and we had a good experience. The rooms are cleam and the hotel staff is very friendly. The best part is the wonderful swimming pool in the garden. A bit noisy and busy during this season.

This place was absolutely stunning, located in Baveno on Lake maggiore its an opulent setting for a great price. Reminded me of old style 1920s glamour, the decor was stunning and the rooms well furnished and the beds extremely comfy. The indoor pool was something else too.

Went for a week end of season to this hotel. Blown away by the opulence: marble, gilt and glass everywhere in traditional ducal style. Service at reception was perfect: friendly and professional.

Room very good although we thought we ordered a suite but that was no doubt the agent's fault. Great views over lake.
Sister hotel accessed by the most spectacular tunnel ever encountered. Great luxury and beauty. The Dino is a conference hotel dominated by large groups of employees engaged in ludicrous and irrelevant team building activities but that leave s more room for holidaymakers. Fantastic and empty indoor swimming pools. Outside pools very cold in mid September. Close to the ferry access so very convenient to get the isles, Stresa and Villa Taranto, all must sees.

Food generally good and plentiful. Francisco the Maitre d' is exemplary. We felt in safe hands.
Overall highly recommended

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near lifts due to noise of people emerging. Get rooms at either end of building

We visited the Simplon Hotel in September as part of a Saga tour.
The hotel is luxurious with high quality facilities including a large outdoor swimming pool and a large indoor pool. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. The rooms were well equipped with a comfortable bed.
The food was outstanding with a comprehensive buffet available at the start of every evening meal. The following courses were of an excellent standard and the service was good.
I recommend this hotel without exception.

From the moment we were welcomed by the lovely ladies at Reception to the moment they bid us farewell, we had a wonderful happy week's stay at this beautiful hotel. Everywhere is spacious with tasteful decor everywhere, incl our room. We booked a lake view, well worth the extra cost to sit looking out, particularly in the evening with all the lights twinkling on the water. Good size bathroom. And the food. Well......every meal absolutely delicious. Plentiful choice at breakfast. Several choices for main course in the evening, and a good buffet for hors d'oeuvre. Plenty of places to sit around the pool on loungers or at a table with cane chairs in the attractive grounds. And a link tunnel walk to the sister hotel gives access to not only a superb indoor pool, but another restaurant, another bar, and closer views of the lake from the bar patio. Highly recommend this hotel. Well worth the premium paid to stay somewhere so lovely and where the ladies in Reception, the food, and the friendly waiters helped make our stay.
The hotel is just a short walk from cafes, restaurants, the ferry dock, and an hourly bus into pretty, but busier, Stresa and beyond.

Room Tip: Definitely book a lake view room
