There is no doubt that La Rucola 2.0 is a restaurant that contributes abundantly to the inimitable charm of Sirmione. There are several rooms, with large dining areas, which allow a good spacing between tables, and, consequently, greater privacy for diners.
Our dinner consisted of the "Il Mare" menu, which pleased us a lot. In fact, all the dishes have met our best expectations, both in the quality presented and in the generosity of the servings, all of that at very reasonable prices.
Only the sweets fell short of expectations. I remember especially a mint cream, which might not have been cloying if it were cooler and not at room temperature. Neither did the mignardises, served before the aforementioned main dessert, left us good memories. If it were not for the bad impression left by the desserts, this place would obviously get a top rating for the food.
The service proved to be competent and friendly, the performance of the sommelier being worthy of special praise.
Despite the shortcomings described above, La Rucola 2.0 is a restaurant that I highly recommend to those who want to have lunch or dinner in the wonderful medieval town of Sirmione.

A very good tasting menu full of original courses. Service was efficient, if somewhat over formal and aloof, which happens in some Michelin starred restaurants. Whilst the food was undeniably good and beautiful prepared and presented, the experience was a little clinical.

We were walking in the centre of Sirmione when I noticed a black board with the name "Rucola 2.0" under the symbol that represents the Michelin Star. Followed a secondary street that takes to the restaurant entrance and I read a "small" menù served for lunch with ridiculously low prices for a fine dining restaurant.
My girlfriend and I sat down for lunch.
We were warmly welcomed. We read the menù, made our choices, got advise about a glass of wine and finally ordered.
Wine and water were poured at the table right in front us. After the waiter brought some bread with a special thyme flavoured butter, complementary amouse bouche as a welcome (potato foam with cauliflower a I think strawberry seeds, stracchino cheese filled bignè, octopus served over been's cream).
As First course we shared a beef tartare served with capers and anchovie.
Main course we had a licorice and capers risotto each (which was something to die for).
Pre dessert offered by the restaurant: cream kraffen and a sort of caramel candy.
Dessert was a chocolate and cherry cake with maraschino gel.
2 glasses of good wines, water and 2 espressos: 94 euros.
Way more then worth the visit.
Excellent food and top class service.
We'll definitely come back.

This is a journey of gastronomy. I have eaten in some of the world’s “best” restaurants and La Rucola ranks highly.

From the fabulous bread to begin through to the coffee accompaniments, this is about flavour and culinary artistry.

But you will not be going home hungry, but the opposite.

The menu is not too long but there are 7/8 choices per course. Each very different.

The emphasis is on quality of ingredients .

The emphasis is also on service by Antonio and his fabulous team. Respectfully attentive but not intrusive.

Good wine menu, great to see it on an iPad.

We visited twice in three days.

Cost is €30-40 per course so not inexpensive but you only live once!

We went for lunch - what a fantastic culinary experience. Not just one of the best restaurants you'll come across in Italy, but one of the best in the world!... and do try the Americano cocktail.

Even if you're staying two hours away you should visit.
