Located in a small medieval hamlet 20 minutes walk from downtown Bellagio, Signora Mauri has created a charming apartment. She was a gracious and welcoming host and made me and my fiance feel quite at home. The apartment has a quiet location in a well maintained 700+ year old house. It was a lovely start to an 8 day tour of northern Italy and I would stay again.
A couple anecdotes to demonstrate Sra Mauri's graciousness as a host: The night of my arrival, my GPS accidentally took me up the west side of the lake where I had to wait to catch the ferry across. By now, it was quite late. Her husband met me at the dock and led me back to the apartment. Also, the second night I stayed before my fiance arrived, she even made me a delicious homemade pasta dish. I felt like I was staying with family. She really made me feel comfortable in an unfamiliar place.
I stayed at Al Relais Campi for 3 nights and every evening we came back from town to this place it felt like being at home. This is a cosy place in a quiet sector of Bellagio. The owners were also very kind and helping.
If you search for an affordable place in this pricey but charming town, look no further. Al Relais Campi offers a honest, simple and comfy place to stay.
