Best Western Hotel Piemontese
Ranked #4 of 34 Hotels in Bergamo
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 12 July 2012 via mobile

+ Execellent location if you are staying in Bergamo for a short while, 100 m from train station and bus stop (to the airport)
+ Good value for money
+ Clean and modern rooms

+/- Not too much trouble for us, but I would recommend asking for rooms not close to the elevator - it could potentially become quite noisy, I imagine

- The bed was too hard for my liking
- Really slow wi-fi, could be some technical issues

This hotel is across the road from the railway station so it is easy to travel to Milan & Lecco. The fares are very reasonable & the trains run on time! It costs 2 euros to travel by bus to the hotel (the bus stops across the road) and the same to return to the airport. The town itself is busy & the old town is easily reached by bus or funicular - you can buy bus tickets for 24 hours or 72 hours so travelling around the town is simple. A good place for a long weekend break, the staff in the hotel are very good & the bedrooms are well equipped. Ask for a room at the back if you like your peace & quiet.

We have just spent 3 nights at this hotel, the location is perfect for travelling around literally across the road from the train station, bus station and tourist information office (which was also extremely helpful) A few reviews on here made me a bit wary and I didn't book breakfast there because of what some reviews said but we were so happy with every aspect of our stay that I would have happily tried the breakfast too. Modern, Air conditioned rooms, very very clean, roms serviced every day with fresh towels etc. Flat screen TV in room and fridge, Lifts to all floors. Staff very friendly and good English, no problem with check in and let us leave our luggage there in the store as we arrived too early. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would go back again.

Room Tip: We had room 506, it was around the back of the hotel but very satisfactory.

We booked this hotel for one night, as a stopover before visiting the Lakes. From the outside it looks a typical station hotel beside a busy road. However, once we had checked in we were pleasantly surprised. We were given a room at the back and it was very peaceful, away from the traffic noise. The room itself was spotlessly clean with a modern bathroom - complete with fluffy towels and nice toiletries. We were disappointed to find the attached Pizza restaurant closed as we had arrived mid evening and in need of sustinence! However, a short walk up the road brings you to a number of bars and restaurants.

Breakfast was adequate enough to start the day, served in a pleasant little breakfast room.

We shall definately stay here again and, hopefully, for longer next time. We booked through Travel Republic at a cost of £70 for one night - with a E5 city tax payable to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back to avoid traffic noise

Fantastic location- across the road from the train station, bus station and tourist office. An easy walk to the new centre and shops. Caught bus to old centre right opposite hotel. Room was great- large and very clean. Bathrooms were excellent- very large, airy and good shower. Breakfast was great- lots of variety and plentiful. Staff polite and courteous. A great choice.
