“Great time”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

In June 2011 we spend 2 full weeks in this hotel. We experienced a very friendly and helpfull staff.
The view from out the hotel is wonderfull...On the left you see Italy and on the right you see the Cote d'Azur. Great place to see great places in Italy and France and not far away.

In this hotel you experience a friendly and familiar but professional atmosphere. Espacially our man Emillio who gave us a great time and unforgettable hospitality. A place to remember.

We loved this hotel. The staff were amazing, the food in the restaurant was amazing, the facilities were great, the views breathtaking.
We stayed in a 2 bed apartment for 4 days. The view from the main bedroom was fantastic (the coast line past Monte Carlo) and there was a lovely outside bench set to sit on in a private patio. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with a hairdryer and large bath etc.
The main bedroom has a large queen size bed, as well as an extra day bed and TV. The 2nd bedroom as 2 single beds , all beds were exceptionally comfortable.
The hotel is on the top of the hill and has a bit of a windy road to reach the top. The hotel is on lovely grounds, the gardens are peaceful and they even have a koi pond with 4 turtles. The swimming pool was a huge hit with the kids as it has 2 slides and the pool itself is quite large (about 25 m). There is a gym outdoors, a snooker table and ping pong table. The snooker table is a bit worn but still in good working order. The dinning room is lovely, inside and outside areas, and the cutlery is silver (the good stuff from yester-year). Dinner is by candlelight, with amazing views of Monte Carlo, amazing staff with wonderful stories to tell. Pets are allowed as long as they are not a bother to any other guest and its amazing to see this at a hotel. The staff speak english and the owner is so friendly and eager to please his guests. We would definitely return to this hotel. We so enjoyed our stay that we did not want to leave.

The hotel is warm, charming, beautiful. Dinner and included breakfast were excellent. The view from our room was unbelievable. The hotel is on the top of the mountain, and we could see Monaco, Nice, and all the way to Cannes. The full moon rising over the sea was very romantic. Service was great, the proprietor and servers spoke English, and we would definitely go back. Only problem was my GPS did not bring us up the front of the mountain, the suggested route, we later discovered. It "recalculated" us up the backside of the mountain to the hotel, and the back road is not for the feint of heart. Once we arrived, the hospitality of the proprietor made the journey worth the challenge.

I stayed at this hotel for a few nights with my parents. The view from our balcony was amazing,we could see monanco, and almost as far as Nice. There was a good friendly atmosphere in the hotel, the staff spoke enough english, but did understand french a bit better, this is not surprising really considering how close it is to france.

We ate in the restaurant on our last night. The food was fine, but a bit over-priced compared to the restaurants in the town in the valley. We found a really nice pizzeria on the seafront called Toninio's (I think) which is highly reccomended.
However, the cakes in the hotel were amazing. There is a local pasrty cake called crostata, which is home-made by a very talented person in the hotel and was served with breakfast as well as after dinner.

The view alone from our corner room was well worth the very reasonable rate. Warmth emanates from Antonello, the second generation son who by day mans the front desk and by night dons a sportsjacket to become the restaurant's maitre'd. The hotel is perched in the foothills between the sea and the towering alps beyound and its setting makes everthing about the hotel special and difficult. Finding this place is a nightmare. Coming off the Autostrada onto a maze of roads that don't lead to the hotel and not mapquestable is frustrating. Save yourself at least an hour by calling the hotel and having Antonello route you from your exact location. Once you have found the correct road, traveling up and down the hairpin one lane road is scary and we nearly had several accidents during our three night stay. We would not go into town at night for fear of driving the road. But despite the road, the hotel is well worth the risk. The restaurant is superb and again the setting makes any meal romantic and special. Our room was small but the balcony and the view west along the Menton/Monaco coastline was stunning and ever changing.
