Carlos was very helpful from the beginning. He gave us information about the city and everything else.
The room is in a nice building, and it was very clean and tidy. Location is excellent.

Appart from that, the bed was quite uncomfortable, and I couldn't have a proper warm shower (probably due to the fact they were fully booked).
Also, as it was New Years eve and the bar was closed, the breakfast was left in the room but was not very nice: no milk, no bread.
With the New Years celebrations it was very noisy from outside all night and even in the morning.

We didn't know anything else but some basic information about La Spezia and its hotels/rooms beforehand. But our booking at Del Prione was a really good choice in the "booking lottery" you make when choosing a place to stay. Centrally located in centro storico, easy to find if you come to La Spezia by train, room was beautiful, not big, but had everything needed (even little fridge for your water and beer), clean place, old, very narrow house, only 6 rooms, so you don't have any bar or breakfast room at the premises - but really, who would needs them when you are nearly at someone's home? Breakfast, coffee, croissant and some juice was served nearby in the cafe. Carlo, astonishing owner, was helping in every matter you wanted to know (restaurants, Cinque Terre, connections), big thanks to him. As someone pointed out there is check-in time 17-19 but we contacted Carlo before our arrival and we successfully agreed with him to come earlier and leave our luggage at the premises. Del Prione is a top choice for your Cinque Terre trip!

Room Tip: No lift, only stairs.

We booked a double room for just one day in order to go to Cinque Terre. One day before the booking, we received an email in which the opening times to do the check in was from 17.00-19.00. As we were on holiday with limited internet conecction to check mails (on holiday you do not really checks emails), we did not see it. And the same day we have the booking, at 19.00, we were called and said that the hotel is close and "ciao" (they already said that opening time was 17.00-19.00 in the email and this isn´t their business), so nothing to do. They did not care about we did not have any other booking and went back to Pisa to find someting. Really bad experience and worst ever expererience in any hotel. Never found a situation where nobody try to find a solution. And, of course, they did not refund the money. My advice, if you are not sure you can not do the check in from 17.00-19.00, DON´T BOOK.

This was probably my favorite hotel during my 10 day trip in Italy. The room and bathroom were both clean, the location was great, and best of all - the owner was so friendly! He sat down and showed us his recommendation for how we should conquer Cinque Terre + Porto Venere in one day. He gave us maps and time tables for train and ferry. I had done some research before arriving but it was super helpful hearing from a local! He definitely makes it clear he wants you to enjoy your time in the area.

PS - I would definitely make it out to Porto Venere if you're in the area! I liked it as much if not even more than the towns of Cinque Terre.
