Our trip to the Cinque Terre was an unforgettable day. We visited Five (Cinque) villages, hanging between sea and land, a place where we were immersed by its beauty. Our visit began at La Spezia, If was very cold and windy so take a warm jacket. We had a bite to eat and you had to pay to use the toilet or buy a coffee to use for free, we then took a train to Riomaggiore. You can admire the houses leaning one against the other and stroll along the narrow cobble streets. We then reached Manarola. Try some of the local fruit it was so sweet and colourful and was the most delicious fruit I have ever tasted, and at reasonable prices. The tiny harbor has a boat ramp and picturesque buildings climbing to the ravine. Our journey then continued to Monterosso a small fishing village considered The Pearl of the Cinque Terre. Then off to Vernazza, a seaside town surrounding a small natural port. But the prices for a ice cream were criminal. We would recommend this tour.

CTTours did a great job! Christian was our driver and he picked us up directly in front of our AirBnB apartment in Florence. He drove us to Cinque Terre and gave us a terrific overview of the area (which he knew very well since he was born and raised close by). We loved the combination of tour guide and alone time. He made the day so easy since he would drop us in one town and pick us up in the next (we took the train in between). I would definitely hire CTTours again. We actually want to do the Carrara tour next time.

Four of us traveling on a cruise were picked up at the cruise port by Luca and Francesca for a wonderful day to Cinque Terre . We started in Portovenere and visited 4 of the seaside villages. Francesca was personable and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions. She expertly guided us through the transit system when necessary. It was a wonderful day doing what we wanted. One word of caution: it is a lot of walking with hills. We would highly recommend them.

Had a great tour with CTTours to Cinque Terre.

We had Christian as our driver for the day.

We were collected from our Hotel, Stella della Versilia, in Ronchi and drove through La Spezia before starting our tour at Porto Venere where we had about an hour of free time to look around ourselves.

We then travelled to 'Cinque Terre' itself starting off at Manarola where Christian gave a guided tour.

From here we caught the ferry to Vernazza where we again had the opportunity to wonder around at our leisure and enjoy some nice ice cream before being collected by Christian who then took us to our final village which was Corniglia.

Cinque Terra is a stunning area and definitely a 'must see' location and Christian obviously knows the area very well indeed.

Personally I felt that Porto Venere and 3 of the Cinque Terra villages was ample enough during a one-day tour.

I would also highly recommend going to Cinque Terra by private tour as:

1) In August at least, they get very busy and you would have to park some considerable way outside of the villages, whereas guides can park a lot close and/or just drop you off;

2) Some of the roads are EXTREMELY narrow; and

3) It is much better to travel with someone who is very knowledgeable about the area and can explain, and show you, the mono-rail system used by the farmers for instance.

All in all I would highly recommend this tour and CTTours in general.
