A very nice hotel indeed. The hotel itself is old style with marble floors and wood paneling in the foyer. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful in every respect. The restaurant on the roof top where breakfast was served was fabulous overlooking the harbour if you choose to sit outside. The choice of food at breakfast was very good with everything you could possibly ask for. The lifts were a bit creaky though. I dined in the restaurant attached to the hotel in the evening "Tralalero" which was also very good and mostly seafood based items on the menu, which is to be expected. I stayed for three days and had no complaints at all, the next time I visit Genoa I will stay there again.

An excellent place to stay: The rooms are spacious, clean, the staff very professional, the breakfast fantastic. The location is just by the train station, but not noisy, not a dangerous place. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: On the upper floors there are great views.

I wanted to give it a 5/5 but decided to deduct 1 mark because of a couple of, relatively minor, things. 1) the hotel premise is actually quite old and certain places not adequately lit. but overall quite spacious. 2) the breakfast was not very good, but mind you, we had the best pasta here at night, definitely order one if you can. However, there are still many good things about this hotel. Good value. Friendly staff. They invite you to the roof top bar for some welcome beers. Breakfast also takes place at roof top which has a really nice view of the city.

Beautifully appointed room and palatial bath, excellent and attentive staff, bountiful breakfast buffet, and very convenient location--easily accessible to transportation hubs, the port, and the most beautiful parts--and the key museums--of the historic city..

Highly recommend.

The hotel is situation within walking distance of the PrincipeTrain Station, close to the airport, and within walking distance of nearly everything you might want to visit. It is a grand hotel not simply in name. The price is awesome. We will return.
