I have been there many times, always for business reasons and was always happy.
Sometimes, especially in summer it is a little bit too crowded and noisy, but food always good.
The menu is not original, they offer traditional dishes, and generic but all are okay.
Wine selection is adequate, interior design beautiful, I recommend.

This place far exceeded my expectations given so many terrible reviews. Having not found a reservation at any of the more highly reviwed places in Modena and because of the beautiful concert being projected in the square, we stopped here. It was very busy and service was slow, many different waiters but everyone was very friendly and the vibe was great with lots of locals of all ages. It is to be expexted on such a busy night and such a large restaurant. What i did not expect was the amazing food. We don't eat pork and the waiter was so nice to help us find just the right dishes..the tagliatelle with bolognese aparently is only beef in Modena..score and the lamb crusted with pistachios in pumpkin puree was delucious. The vegetable "strudel" appetizer with phyllo and balsamic vinegar was divine. The mille feuille with strawberries did not dissapoint either. Coming from San Francisco we are so spoiled with food choices and this restaurant was refreshing to have so many choices, after so much of the same pizza and pasta even in the best places in Florence and Bologna.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Modena's historic quarter right across from the Duomo di Modena.
The menu is indeed impressive and the quality of the food was top notch.
Service was polite and efficient.
Pricy? Absolutely yes. Is it worth? Yes again.

We always stop here our first night in Modena for an early evening spritz or sparkly, local lambrusco. The endless buffet of little bites, salumi and salads for €3 is a great way to have a light meal in a very pretty setting overlooking the square.

Almost impossible to find a restaurant open on the eve of Ferragosto. The place was v busy and we wondered the restaurant would deliver a decnt meal to a captive audience. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was immaculate and the food good. The chicken was full of flavour and the pasta with seafood good. The puddings were wonderful - we chose the cannoli and strawberry layer cake. The bellinis at the end of the evening made with fresh peaches were sublime.
