Arrived at the apartments which are in a brilliant position in Bologna, right on the Piazza Maggiore. However we are 2 couples in our sixties, and on arrival we found 1 double bedroom and another double room which actually had a single bed with a pull out under it. After a 1 hour wait, eventually the housekeeper did her best to put the beds together into a double, but not without us making a fuss! We had booked an apartment with what we thought had a terrace, well it had,but a small step ladder was produced and we had to climb the stepladder, then climb up 3 very narrow concrete steps and haul ourselves up on to the balcony. To be fair, once there the view is fantastic, however you then had to get down again! As Bologna is the food and wine capital, obviously we didn't go out on the balcony after a few glasses of wine! The staff are lovely, the apartment spotless however it was a very disappointing start.
