“PERFECT 4 STARS!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2012

This hotel is a perfect 4 stars, everything was as expected. We know the location, right in front of the rail station, and were surprised to hear no a noise from the street, we were given a room facing the street (5th floor) and there was absolutely no noise. Modern hotel, the lobby and all the common areas are nicely decorated, the room was good size, nice furnitures and also the bathroom was very nice. Wifi free of charge in the lobby. Great breakfast...all you can imagine and really good quality (cakes are to die for!), served in a beautiful area. Staff was efficient and kind. This hotel has something more than other 4 stars we have stayed before in Bologna, probably it has been refurbished recently and gives you the idea of a fresher place.

Judging by the reviews I'd previously read here on Tripadvisor was expecting great things from this hotel....which (quite frankly) failed to deliver.
I'd describe this hotel as OK at best...

We'd booked a couple of deluxe rooms but were assigned two adjoining rooms on the 2nd floor that can only be described as average. Our companion had quite a well equipped room which seemed ok, but ours was quite grubby (carpet was quite stained and in need of a good clean) and my husbands towel was badly stained. We had to borrow a bottle opener from the room next door....and the air conditioning seemed to have one setting only (however it was programmed)....resulting in an uncomfortably hot night.

Fortunately we only stayed for a few hours....having to catch an early flight (following a previous cancellation).

On the plus side...the hotel was perfectly located for us to gain a flavour of Bologna...and my husband was able to travel back from the airport easily on the airport bus (which stops right outside the hotel). A male member of staff (at reception) was really helpful....in spite of a female colleague of his acting quite un-professionally and abruptly when dealing with a small discrepancy.

Didn't experience breakfast as we had to leave early.

This hotel was really nice, the furnishings are lovely and the rooms really comfortable, our room was quite large and nice and bright and we had a view of the station. The double glazing is amazing as we throught sleeping on the front it would be noisy but we never heard any of the hussle and bustle from outside infact the only thing that lets this hotel down is the airconditioning or should I say lack of it.
When we visited in June this area of Italy was experiencing a heat wave and it was 40 degrees by 10:30am and there was no relief from the heat in this hotel as the airconditioning although it was on was not effecient and made little or no difference.
Breakfast was really nice, buffet breakfast with a good selection of hot and cold items. The staff were efficient and friendly and they got to know our drinks order at breakfast each day.
When booking this hotel its rather pricey if you do it directly with the hotel, but we found a website to book through and got a really good deal.
The hotel has a bar, but its not a bar where you can go and order drinks and stay all night each drink was 8 euro's and you could help yourself to the buffet nibbles so you were paying for the food whether you wanted it or not. The bar man was really friendly and the service good.
The position of the hotel is great, its directly opposite the station, where the buses start from for the hop on hop off tours and also to get buses to/from the airport and also for the taxi rank, its about a 15-20 min walk into the centre of bologna, but its a pleasant walk under the portico's.
I would definately stay here again if I was visiting Bologna

Very convenient location, good sized rooms, very helpful and polite staff, coffee/tea facilities in room, good buffet breakfast, free computer and printer for guests to use, good range of TV stations. We were very pleased with this hotel.

The hotel is well located, right opposite the central train station. The sound prrofing is very good in the front rooms, no noise can be heard from the street.
The rooms are nice, well furnished, but maybe a bit small. Rooms and bathroom are clean. The equipment in the room is basic (no iron, and no possibility to get one in the room for security reasons). Wifi only available for free in the lobby. Available in the rooms, but the fee is quite steep. Beds are comfortable, and the choice of pillows is a nice touch. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Sound proofing on the street side is good, so don't worry about getting a room which faces the t...
