On 28th May my husband and I decided to take this individual trip rather than a group tour and we were not disappointed. We were taken to a small farm 40 minutes west of Bologna. We watched the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese emerging from the milk filled vats in front of our very eyes and lifted into the round moulds . It was also fascinating to see the consequent stages of production.
The balsamic vinegar tour was interesting, finding out it was made entirely from grape juice. The taste of the 40 year old vinegar was unbelievable.
Lunch was fabulous with home made pasta and plenty of the delicious
local sparkling wine.
After a drive through picture postcard Italian countryside we arrived at the Parma ham producer. Again a very interesting visit. seeing 20,000 hams hanging up drying.
Throughout the day Morgan was a perfect guide and soon became more like a friend.
We had a thoroughly good time and would recommend this tour.

This was our best day in the Bologna area thanks to Eleonora, our guide/translator and Gian Caetano, our driver. We opted for a 6-hour trip to see the production of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, balsamic vinegar from Modena and local wines, followed by lunch. After an early pick-up from our hotel, we visited family-run businesses where we were shown round by the owners and sampled the products. It was especially interesting to understand the difference between Parmigiano Reggiano and Gran Padano cheese and to appreciate the different red and white wines. As my wife and I both have some Italian, we enjoyed being able to interact directly wiith the factory owners. Eleonora proved the perfect guide, not intruding unnecessarily but ever attentive and ready to help whenever the communication broke down. Thanks for a really memorable day!

This full day tour was a wonderful way to see the beautiful region, taste the classic foods, have an outstanding meal, and have all your foodie questions answered. Morgan was an outstanding guide! Additionally he was exceptionally knowledge-able about Italian foods of many regions. He was extremely patient answering our many questions about food and cooking. I highly recommend this day tour as really informative and good value for the money. Thanks again Morgan!

Emilian land tour was a wonderful way to see and taste artisanal products of the region with Morgan. My family and I enjoyed starting the day early to watch the morning's fresh cow milk be made into parmigiano reggiano cheese. The cheesemaker demonstrated and walked us through the process. They even cut a whole wheel for us to taste!

Next stop was learning about balsamic vinegar in a beautiful vineyard, then multiple courses for lunch with pasta made by grandma. We finished the day with prosciutto maker and learned about how it is made, consistently since ancient times.
Morgan was very nice and patiently answered all our questions and even my 5year old's. Thank you very much, Morgan!

The tour with Morgan was extremely interesting and filling! We got to taste the finest cheese made by local cheese maker who is very proud of his work (and he should be!) The 40 years old balsamic vinegar was divine! And so was the ham! Morgan the tour guide is locally born and raised in Modena, and is very ethusiastic in showing to tourists the local culture, cuisine and produce. I would highly recommend this tour.
