Absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was like staying in someone’s house. I loved the fact that there was the owners personal effects dotted around the place. It made it feel more homely. I’ve stayed in many vacation rentals, some are a bit clinical and just serve a functional purpose. This place enhanced our vacation in Italy.
Cesi, the owner was a wonderful host. Good communication beforehand and throughout the stay. She met us at the apartment and gave good info about what’s nearby and showed us things in the apartment. She was very friendly and a pleasure to meet.
The apartment is well located for the main railway station and the main sights of Bologna. The apartment itself had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. There was plenty of things in the cupboards, all the oil and condiments, tea and coffee etc. Cesi had kindly left us a few things in the fridge too.
The apartment has a nice terrace and a lovely view of the church. It’s a lovely place and I would definitely stay here again.
The flat's been an excellent base for our 6 day stay. It's conveniently close to railway and bus stations (10 min walk) and also for getting into heart of city - 15 mins walk.
Flat is equipped well. Lovely terrace for al fresco breakfast etc. Owners are charming and went beyond the call of duty and picked us up at airport bus terminus as it was raining on our arrival.
Handy supermarket on doorstep and plenty of little cafes locally.
We received a very efficient and warm welcome from Cesi and Mauro.
The apartment was lovely - maybe even nicer than the photos suggest.
The kitchen was thoughtfully and generously supplied with oil, tea, coffee, eggs, crackers, milk, cheese and more. (This is unusual in our experience of other apartments!)
Good location - especially near (3mins?) the bus station - we took a bus to Ferrara.
Also, two supermarkets within 100metres (try the Falanghini wine at the discount store - very good)
Another big plus was La Matta, a very good Osteria maybe 50 metres away and a great place to eat after a long day out. Look for it on Tripadvisor and you can book ahead via The Fork and get a 30% discount. Literally the best pizza I've eaten anywhere in Italy; meat dishes good too.
Our hosts really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay - very genuine and lovely people.
