This hotel is very conveniently located close to Termini Station, but off of the main noisy street. Our stay was very quiet and easy. The room was a very comfortable size and the bed was huge! It was very clean, and I am VERY picky about cleanliness. The staff were amazingly helpful, cheerful and welcoming. The breakfast was good, and the breakfast staff were also very nice. I highly recommend Hotel Diocleziano.

This hotel is located close to the train station - easy to get to and a good base for exploring Rome using the subway. The breakfast was a little more substantial than tradional and included bacon and eggs. The staff were very helpful and accomadating.

Room Tip: Room 501 has a nice terrace.

This hotel is everything that it says it is..

Clean, tidy, good size room, roomy bathroom (with amazing shower and we got a spa bath). We paid for the breakfast and it was also nice and the staff were very accommodating with information and meeting our every needs.

Conveniently located near the termini it was just a very short walk (easy with luggage) and despite the strange smell and people lurking in the side street and you did feel safe. It was also very easy to find your way to other tourist attractions (either on the metro or walking distance). It was a lovely old building so the lift was slow, pokey and the stairs were a much better option.

For us though it was missing soul. It felt very mechanical and didn't fit with our roman holiday. I do think that if you wanted something easy for a business trip this would tick the boxes but for us who wanted a true Roman experience we were disappointed. We were greeted in English (I'd have loved a really authentic Italian hello and then English) and once the porter took our luggage we weren't sure whether to 'tip' or not. It just felt strange (more like we were in America) and like no other hotel we had stayed at in Italy.

I would recommend to friends who were in Rome for business and wanted the comforts of home.. not people wanting to experience a different culture. Certainly did the job though.

Excellent hotel 5 minutes walk from Rome Termini Station so easy access (incl Fiumicino Airport), metro and buses. We used metro every day to travel around Rome and close proximity of hotel to the underground was welcome. No evening meals served (lots of great restaurants in Rome anyway) but substantial hot and cold breakfast available. English speaking staff very friendly and always helpful. We stayed in a Superior Double Room for the 6 nights of our holiday which was rather nice - free cold soft drinks in mini bar replenished every day. Rome temperature reached 36C during our visit in July so air conditioned bedroom lowered the temp to enable us to sleep better at night. A really nice touch was the notebook / scrapbook on the bedside cabinet in which to record details of the holiday and paste any mementoes.

Room Tip: We were on floor 4 and the room was at the back of the hotel which overlooked other buildings. This w...

I've lost count how many times I've stayed at the Hotel Diocleziano in Rome. I've also referred many of my friends to the hotel. I stayed there once again from July 5th through the 9th and everything continues to be excellent, including the staff, location, breakfast, room.
