“Don't miss this Church!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2012

Rome is filled with 300 churches, but this is one I highly recommend you check out during your stay. Absolutely beautiful and quite a find.

“Beautiful church with amazing frescoes by Pozzo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2012

Andrea Pozzo painted the frescoes on the ceiling of this church in anamazingly detailed trompe l'oeil. It's fun to walk from one end to the other looking at the ceiling all the time. You see the columns elongate as you walk toward or away from them. There is also a fake dome painted in the middle. It looks somewhat real as you approach, but when you get nearer to it, the affect disappears. The main fresco shows representations of the four continents and Saint Ignatius entering paradise to a great welcome. It only takes a few minutes to stop in and look around and, like all churches in Rome, it's free. The church is very near the Pantheon and other important sites. This one is worth stopping for.

A beautiful church that we just happened to stumble upon. The mural paintings are breathtaking.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012 via mobile

It was recommended to go visit this church by a friend that comes to Rome allot. He was right! The church was amazing! I enjoyed it much more than the Sistine Chapel but maybe that was because it was not full of people. You could actually sit in quiet and enjoy the splendor that this church has to offer. I worry that too many good reviews will put this church on the map and ruin it for others. Go check it out but keep it a secret. ;-)
