“Excellent local alternative to hotel”
Reviewed 27 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

It is a ground floor studio apartment, well appointed and updated with a large modern bathroom and good TV/internet. The only drawback was that the kitchen facilities were minimal, an induction range with hood, under cabinet refrigerator, counter-top baking appliance but no oven, . Nevertheless, we successfully cooked several meals there and there is a grocery store (Punta) not too far away. We did have to go out for our daily morning fix of coffee.

We felt the apartment was centrally located, just across the river from the Travestere section, long walking distance to many of Rome's sights. From the train station we caught Bus H and were let out right across the river. The apartment is just behind a large government building and is very quiet for a city dwelling. The #8 tram and several buses can be caught just a block away. Like most of Rome there is an abundance of restaurants, bakeries, bars/snack bars, etc. all around. There is an open air produce market surrounded by fine restaurants a few short blocks to the north and the Jewish Ghetto and synagogue two blocks south.

When we left we caught the #8 tram to the Travestere train station (8 or 9 stops), then a regional train to the Rome airport (8 euro, 30 min). Easy.

All in all we had a great time there. Highly recommended. The loss of a star is for the small kitchen.

“Good location”
Reviewed 26 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were looking for an apartment for my husband and 2 teenage daughters for the last stop on our tour of Italy. This location seemed to fit our needs. I got the exact address from Riccardo and I looked it up on Google maps so we would know how to get there from the bus stop. We exchanged text messages with Riccardo and his sister met us at the apartment. It was a little crowded w/ the sofa bed out but manageable. The patio was very nice.
Although the apartment was on a side street, we did not feel unsafe. It was very close to a supermarket, gelato shop, coffee bar and restaurants. Two blocks from the Tiber River and Ponte Sisto bridge. Once we got our bearings, it was easy to figure out how to get to the closest bus stop (Torre Argentina). The apartment is within walking distance of old Rome, Campo di Fiore, Pantheon and Trastevere area. We even walked back from the Borghese Gallery one day!
There seemed to have been some renovation work going on in the building during our stay. We heard workmen banging around, sometimes as early as 6:30AM one day!
The bathroom had a nice big shower. The kitchen was basic although we didn't cook, just used it for breakfast.
Riccardo kept in touch via text. He arranged for a car to take us to the airport. Even though it was a few euros more than a city taxi, we didn't have to try to call the cab company ourselves with our minimal Italian skills.

“Great location and a good value”
Reviewed 23 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

The very first review of this apartment is spot-on but I'll add my own two cents.

My wife and two teenage children stayed here for four nights, and it worked out well. Perhaps a bit cozy for a party of four (that included two older teenagers) but it was not an issue at all. For a party of two, it's the perfect arrangement.

Lots of positives about the apartment: absolute ideal location, very secure, very quiet, great bathroom with an awesome shower (over-sized and plenty of water pressure). Main bus stop, ATMs, and market are all a very short walk (less than 5 minutes) from the apartment which makes it super convenient. You can also catch a bus directly to the Vatican at the street that runs parallel to the Tiber (again a very short walk from the apt.). Campo Di Fiore and Trastevere are less than a 10 minute walk away.

When I was initially looking at rentals in Rome, I was interested in a more central location (i.e. Pantheon area) but couldn't find one in our price range, and it turns out that would have been a huge mistake as that area is just teeming with tourists all day and night. If you book an apartment in the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain areas, you will be amongst the masses very time you leave or return to your apartment.

The beauty of Coup de Foudre is that you have easy access to all the sights without the hassle of living within that hustle and bustle. It was very relaxing to come back to the peace and quiet of the apartment after a day of sightseeing.

The only negative comments that I have are that the beds were firmer than we prefer but not an issue. Pillows also could have been better - but again not an issue. And the wifi was a bit spotty. It almost always worked but it was a bit annoying sometimes to lose internet connectivity for a minute or so. Still, these were very minor issues and I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. For the location and cost, Coup de Foudre is pretty tough to beat.

Aside from the apartment, here are some other tidbits that I would offer. Galleria Borghese is an absolute must-see but you have to reserve tickets in advance. It was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Italy. Don't do the guided tour of the Colosseum - over-priced and most of the guides don't speak great English; do an audio tour instead where the English is perfect and you can do the tour at your own pace and it's cheaper. Grappolo d'Oro was our best meal - near Campo Di Fiore but not frequented by tourists (which we like). Great food and great service at a reasonable price.

“A big plus is the access to transport, amenities. Quiet lane in a central location in Rome.”

We were picked up and delivered here by taxi service www.romecabsbooking.com with no problem.
This is a little studio sized apartment, ground floor, located in alittle lane, near Ponte Sisto. You can walk to many places of interest, take a bus/tram to most places. At the end of a long walking day out in Rome, you can come back here to rest and rejuvenate to prepare for the next day.
The bathroom looks modern and clean. The living areas and kitchen needs some update. The little courtyard outside is nice to enjoy the outdoor without going out and private too.

At the main road, one can find the tabacci, to buy the transport passes, nice coffee joints and little shops selling Italian made stuff. Cross over ( 5 mins away) is Trastevere, also home to many Italian eating places. Do watch out when recommended a 'special' for the night. Stick to the menu ( and prices) , so you won't get a shock when you get the bill!

If safety is an issue, this location is in a very safe location because it is just behind a goverrnment Ministry and well protected. You may use this as a good base for your Rome travels.

“Perfectly Placed”

Having been to Rome previously, we knew we wanted to be in the Campo de Fiori area.
Riccardo's studio is perfectly placed to walk just about anywhere. He arranged for someone to pick us up from the airport, met us when we arrived, even though it was late and was very helpful. The studio is in a quite street, it is clean, well equipped, with a superb bathroom and provided everything we needed. I will certainly book again when we next want a trip to Rome.
