“A perfect week”

We had a perfect week staying here with our grown up children and their partners. We were treated with great kindness and hospitality by the owners who accommodated our requests about early arrival and late departure, provided a lovely 'starter pack' of food when we arrived, invited us to help ourselves to cherries from the tree outside the back door and were ready with helpful advice.
The house is comfortable, attractive and well appointed and the garden and pool are even more beautiful than the pictures. Lovely meals on the balcony and at the friendly restaurant a couple of minutes walk down the road. Shops and bars in the village supplied all the basics we needed, and a supermarket a short journey along the main road. An easy drive from Ciampino airport for arriving and departing.
We barely scratched the surface of the things to do in the neighbourhood - a day trip to Rome by train was easy and relaxing , lots of well marked walking trails in the national parks, wild swimming in the Aniene river, the gardens in Tivoli and many interesting small towns and villages nearby.
All in all a perfect week, and we could have done with several more! We hope to return.

Liked best: garden, pool, balcony, neighbourhood, hospitality of the owners
Liked least: what was there was adequate, but a few more large cooking pots would have been useful for our big party

“Beautiful place lovely people”
Reviewed 13 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The villa was gorgeous. The view from it was stunning. We were celebrating a significant birthday for someone and it exceeded our expectations as we had a representative of quite few decades! Our only wish was that the weather could have been a little warmer. If we were to book this villa again it would be in the Summer months when it would be even more perfect of that's possible. The little town was everything tht you would expect of an Italian village; bars cafés and a wonderful little restaurant just down the road. I would certainly recommend this to families and groups of friends. The Davies family: South Wales.

“A 1st class villa in a hill-top village”
Reviewed 21 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Olive Grove & Rose Hill are a pair of semi-detached villas which share a beautiful garden and pool, we stayed in one and our friends stayed in the other.
Cineto Romano is a remote hill-top village of winding streets and a peaceful market square with a bar and cafe. A delightful shop selling fruit, vegetables, bread, and essential supplies (try the sausages hung on strings from the ceiling) the post office is open weekday mornings.
A hundred yards from the villa is a wonderful trattoria with a panoramic view of the surrounding hills. When we ate there it always busy with local people.
Both villas were spotlessly clean and well appointed with beautiful antique furniture, books and decor. We took every meal on the terrace overlooking the garden. Late in the evening we were intrigued by the geckos and other wildlife (mosquito coils were really effective!)
Despite being 30 miles from Rome the public transport to the city centre, is surprisingly cheap and efficient. The local railway station is in the next village and return to Rome costs 6 Euros.
However, a holiday at Cineto Romano must also include a visit to Hadrian’s villa in Tivoli.
