My wife and I stayed in this apartment for a week two years ago; stayed for a bit longer on our next visit to Rome, in 2017, and will surely stay here when we next come to Rome. Everything is exactly as described in the listing. The location is terrific not only for the reasons stated there, but also because of the proximity of a taxi stand, several bus stops and a tram stop, so that everywhere you might want to go is easily accessible. There is a good café, about three minutes away, patronized mostly by locals, where we start every day with coffee and a pastry -- and an excellent gelato shop about four minutes from the apartment. Lucia, the owner/manager, has thought of everything, including, in addition to the items noted in the listing, a plug adaptor, umbrellas, great water pressure in the shower, and a good collection of Rome maps and guidebooks. If any questions arise, she is easy to reach and is very helpful. The apartment has ample drawer space and hanging space - and hangers - for clothes.; there is also a good storage space for luggage. The place is in great shape, and is very clean. I can't think of anything I would want Lucia to change.
Before I comment on the accommodation, I must say that Lucia is the kindest, most generous and welcoming of owners! From the moment we met her until our final hug goodbye she was gracious, helpful and understanding; she even offered to reserve a car to take us to the airport. We have stayed in many apartments around the world and Lucia stands out as the best owner by far!
The apartment itself is in an outstanding position in the very center of Rome. The building itself dates back to Roman times and is part of the original Theatre of Pompey, where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The street on which the apartment is located, Via di Grotta Pinta (Painted Grotto Way) is built upon the original location of the stage. The apartment is very compact but affords every necessity. It is spotlessly clean and freshly decorated. It says something for the thought and care that has gone into the design of the apartment that, despite its small footprint, it has a washing machine, dishwasher, television, comfortably sized bathroom, in addition to a spacious bedroom, sitting area and kitchenette. During the day the neighborhood bustles with locals and a few tourists who have strayed from the Campo di Fiore, just a few yards away through a secret passageway, but at nighttime all is peaceful and blissfully quiet.
Excellent local restaurants are within a few minutes' walk, a bakery to die for is just around the corner on Via dei Chiarvari, the Carrefour grocery store is also two minutes' walk from the apartment, and all Roman attractions are within walking distance. We never felt the need to take a bus, metro, or taxi -- everything was easily within reach.
I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. It, and its owner, Lucia, are truly outstanding.
BTW, if you are in need of an excellent and knowledgeable private guide in Rome, I can recommend Agnes Crawford at "Understanding Rome". Check Agnes out on TripAdvisor. She, like Lucia, is a treasure!
This beautiful ground-floor apartment, with every possible amenity is located next to the Campo di Fiori, 5 minutes walk, maximum, from Largo di Torre Argentina, which is central to buses and trams that will take you all over the city, 12 minutes from the Pantheon, 5 from the Tiber River, 20 from the Vatican.....CENTRAL! It is a calm, secure cocoon to return to after the sightseeing, fun and madness of Rome. Proximity to the popular market and its fresh produce meant that we could cook "at home" or dine out in one of the many restaurants close by. Lucia was a gracious, generous host, ready to solve immediately, any question, inquiry or need that we had. She certainly helped to make our stay here an absolute joy.
What a Find !!
I'm so glad myself and my two daughters found Lucia s place in Rome. What a perfect location ( you can basically walk to all the main sites in the city ) The apartment was in immaculate condition, Lucia had her driver pick us up from the airport and he brought us right to the apartment. Lucia was there waiting for us and had arranged for us to check in early due to our early arrival to the airport. She gave us a very detailed tour of the place and had a few recommendations for restaurants which turned out to be fabulous. Lucia thank you very much for all your help and keeping such a great place for us to use when we come to Rome we will definitely be back to visit.
We loved this adorable, centrally located, quiet apartment!

This was our first experience in Rome and our second with Home Away and we
couldn't have been more pleased! Lucia was not only attentive and
professional, but full of heart! Lucia arranged all of our transportation
needs and was at the apartment to greet us upon our arrival.
The apartment is not only decorated beautifully but it is so clean and
attention is given to detail! The location is ideal! We fell in love with
the immediate neighborhood, visiting the restaurants, wine bar and cafes
within a minute or two walking distance daily! We were able to walk to The
Colosseum, The Forum, The Pantheon, the Vatican and strolled the piazzas
We highly recommend this apartment for any couple visiting Rome without
reservation! We would suggest the towels be updated but this small issue
does not prevent us from giving Lucia and this apartment a 5 Star rating!
