Had a nice room, with comfortable bed which had a balcony we sat on in the evening.
Hotel provided a smart phone to use for locating attractions. Even with having our own smart phones we did take advantage of them. Staff were pleasant and helpful with suggestions. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: 4th floor have nice size balcony's on them

What a lovely surprise! It was a perfect place to spend our last 4 days in Italy. Our room was spacious, windows on 2 sides with lovely views of a very serene and beautiful neighborhood. It was so quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. Continental breakfast had everything you could want - scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs, cheeses and salami, fresh pastries, fruit, breads etc.. There was a happy hour every night from 6-9. Free use of mobile phone - you could even make international calls. It was an 8 minute walk to Circus Maximus one way and then the other way a 5 minute walk to local restaurants- not like you see in the “touristy “ sections but authentic Italian where little to no English spoken and Italians are there. Even though less English spoken at these places everyone was very nice and accommodating. We sat at the nearby park and ate our gelato and did some people watching. It’s not a “party” type hotel - seemed like a lot of business folks around but we felt very safe and welcome there. The Hotel reception people were very helpful and when we needed a cab - they would get us one within 3-5 minutes. The airport is a 25-35 minute drive by taxi and the Red/green bus line was located by circus Maximus. The train station was about a 15 min cab ride. We absolutely loved the location and would stay there again.

Just spent a very enjoyable five days inRome staying at the villa San Pio.
Location is part way up the Aventine Hill in a leafy suburb. Really quiet and peaceful and a Short walk from Piramide metro.
Ok, let's start with the cons as there aren't many.
Rooms vary a fair bit. We stayed in a double first night and the triple we actually booked thereafter (clerical error). The double was tired, the bathroom tiles were cracked and the bath/shower fittings grimy and in need of renovation to be fair. The triple 523 was, naturally, way roomier and worth the upgrade cost in space and condition. All round much better though again the Jacuzzi shower enclosure is showing its age. Fantastic aircon which also helped muffle noise from next door (who dries their hair at midnight??)
Beds are hard, really very solid, and pillows seem to match. Great if you like that, but mostly you are sooo tired from the classic Rome route march that you'll pass out anyway.
Ok, on to the many positives.
Quiet romantic hotel with lush gardens and outdoor bar area for night time pre/after dinner drinks. REALLY well kept public areas, I saw staff on step ladders cleaning the tops of big armoires as well as the leaves of potted plants in reception. Rooms are kept equally sharp and clean, notwithstanding previous age of fittings comments. Staff are very welcoming and speak great English. They also organised a private transfer taxi from the airport in advance for us. Very helpful, including popping some prosecco in the room for my wife's birthday.
Good buffet breakfast in the garden and conservatory area. Good selection and bustling waiter service for hot drinks. Everything fresh and constantly topped up.
The same area becomes the bar at night. A very reasonable and extended happy hour is available and we were looked after superbly by Agapito, a gregarious and very customer service oriented evening host. Local info, restaurant advice and great cocktails. He was outstanding and has been there for donkey years so look out for him!
Overall we enjoyed the stay and would recommend Villa San Pio. Upgrades to the bathroom fittings would have warranted the extra star.

Room Tip: Get a metro/bus pass and using Pyramide station down the rd you can get most places

Very nice breakfast in lovely setting. Hotel was not in city center so we took cabs. Nice hotel with a helpful staff.
Baths have jacuzzi tub shower which you need to climb into. I opted for a walk in shower, very small. Only available in two rooms. Nice decor.

Stayed here after seeing it in Sunday Times Travel magazine. Reception, bar area are all of a good standard. Rooms however are adequate only in need of a bit of TLC having said that were clean with comfy bed and plenty of hot water. Our room had a fan or something that seemed to noisily cut in every 20 minutes or so so that together with very thin walls didn't make for a quiet peaceful sleep. Bar area/garden very welcome after a day out in Rome. We were happy to walk into Rome as used to walking but a good 50 minute walk to Vatican and so tended not to walk back late afternoon and then return to the city in the evening and would end up walking 15/20km daily !!!

Room Tip: Our room was pretty basic, not sure if this was normal standard of rooms. Spoke to other guests who said how good their rooms were.
