“Basic, but good”

+ It's a basic, but comfortable hotel. The room was clean and it wasn't small at all. Bathroom is also OK. The hotel is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood.

- The walls are extremely thin, a noisy neighbor can be a nightmare. Breakfast is the same every day.

For all the hotels I stayed in Europe this has been the worst. The service is appalling, breakfast is the same always, the rooms are very small, the towels are of poor quality and require you to pay in cash. During my stay also the electric power went down 30 minutes into the building and the elevator is very old and not always work.

Room Tip: I don't recommend this hotel

We stayed at Hotel Stella for 2 nights and quite frankly that's enough! Upon entering the hotel you're greeted with a dark and dingy interior with a cage lift to take you up to your needed floor ... hence the name we affectionaly gave the hotel. The fact that there was also a dentist on the 1st floor of this hotel also made this place to stay slightly strange. The staff in reception were rude and unhelpful except for the young signore who was on shift at night. The rooms are basic and I mean basic. The bed was rock hard with one pillow each and holes and rips in the bedding. The brown scratchy blanket did nothing for our romantic weekend away. You had to climb into the sink or shower to be able to shut the bathroom door and towels consisted of very large teatowels (very strange). There were no tea making facilities or wi-fi and the keyboard on the old computer didn't work when trying to access the internet. Breakfast consisted of 1 roll and 1 croissant per guest but was complimented by a lovely breakfast lady who was at least smiley compared to the other staff. At 7 am machinery started as builders set to work next door. This was not mentioned at anytime during our booking. The hotel also had a powercut for half hour and although plunged into darkness there was no assistance or explanation. When we booked the hotel we were advised it was a 3* but it's not and actually we think it just about scrapped the 2*'s it's actually been rated. Definitely not worth £110 a night. The best thing about this hotel was the location, great being so close to the Termini and actually within walking distance to most of the sights.
