“FANTASTIC!!!”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights (8th-10th July). We initially walked past the front door of hotel as it is easy to miss - look for Hotel Petit and you will find it.
This turned out to be a wonderful place for us to stay. Our sons were in a twin room we were in a double. On arrival our sons were upgraded free of charge to a Junior Suite and we had a lovely standard double but were told the next night we would be upgraded free to a suite! This is the first time we have ever been upgraded and it was a really pleasant surprise. By the way the standard room was excellent and we really enjoyed it.
The suite was huge with a turkish bath and a jacuzzi and came with nice quality toiletries. We also had a little balcony which looked down on the street below. The flat screen television was wall mounted but unfortunately only had Italian channels. The hotel has a wonderful mix of the old and the contemporary - when you enter the aged building and come up in the lift you have no idea you are going to be walking from the old to the ultra modern The rooms are extremely well designed and feel luxurious.
The hotel is in a central location and only 5 minutes walk from the Termini.
If you are bed and breakfast you need to go out of the building to the restaurant downstairs/next door. The breakfast was okay, nice enough but nothing special but it does give you a start to the day. It is a basic continental breakfast with not a great deal of choice but what was there was nice enough. The only small gripe I have with it is that the milk was not cold...or even cool. It is left to sit out in a jug and was a bit warm. Even when it was topped up after the milk was finished it was still warm. But that is my only small complaint - other than that the hotel was great.
The staff we met at this hotel were all lovely and very helpful. We were able to leave our luggage on the last day and collect it later.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would love to go back if I am ever in Rome again.
Thank you, Hotel Dharma.

Stayed in the standard double and we were very pleased with the room, the cleanliness, the decor, the air conditioning is great- ( built in to the room rather than the noisy fan attachments you get in some hotels). The hotel is literally round the corner from the Republica metro station, or a 5 minute walk from the train terminal. Buses are easily accessible from the Via Nationale, which is again a 1 minute walk from the hotel. The shower, and bathroom facilities are excellent, great walk in shower. Rooms can be cleaned everyday and clean towels were provided every day. The restaurant next door ( Cotto) is great too. Breakfast is served here everyday for the hotel guests only. There is a good selection and the waiter is really helpful and the service is excellent. We ate at Cotto on two occasions, very reasonable prices and again great service. We felt very safe at the hotel the card key access was well thought out, and the building was secure. A top hotel for people who like a contemporary style, comfort and a great service, at a great price!

Room Tip: Buses 40 and 64 run to the Piazza Navona, and Il Vittoriano ( the huge white marble building)are eve...

i am so glad i found this gem!
the rooms were great, had the normal twim room on the first night which has already wow-ed us and we were upgraded to a junior suite on the 2nd and 3rd night for free! it was SO GOOD! we had even more space and a turkish bathe!
the staff were really friendly and even help to moved our luggages over to the rooms (and they actually made sure they moved everything! even the laundry my friend forgot to keep!)
the breakfast was quite an average italian style but no complains
location is great! if you are not fond of wallking under the hot sun in summer just take the metro at repubbica(not sure if its spelled right) or just walk and enjoy rome!
i would come back the next time i visit rome! highly recommended!

This hotel stay far exceeded our expectations. For a hotel in the middle of a busy city, Hotel Dharma had plenty of space, wonderful air conditioning, free Internet, lots of charm, friendly and eagerly helpful staff, and a great location. The breakfast at Cotto was a great way to start the day. We also got some helpful advice from the staff at Cotto (who used to be a tour guide, so knew a lot of tips for the traveller!) If you're looking for some modern comfort in this busy and hot city, then this place is the place to be. A huge thanks to all the staff, so pleasant and helpful to the sometimes bumbling tourist.

One tip to guests - there are no big signs on the street for Hotel Dharma. For registration, look on Via Viminale (I believe at a location that is marked by Hotel Selene, their sister hotel) and for the hotel itself, look for the sign for Hotel Petit, near the Best Western, on Via Torino (also right next to Cotto, the restaurant for breakfast). Hotel Dharma is on the 3rd floor.

Dear Jami T,

I am very happy to know that your stay at Dharma was so pleasant and overwhelming. I appreciate your candid feedback. Sorry about the rumble concerning the desk on annex building: this has finally ceased to be by August, 1st. Now we are able to offer a in-house reception every day of the year, available for late check in. Little hotels grow up....

We stayed at the Dharma for 4 nights on our honeymoon and had a wonderful stay. Lorenzo was helpful and friendly, as were the staff in the restaurant. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the 20% discount for the restaurant meant other meals were fantastic value (and tasty too)!

We booked just the regular double room which was surprisingly big (helped by a nice high ceiling). Great bed and bathroom facilities and the noise cancelling window worked really well. The room was also totally secure, plenty of keycard swiping required to open everything, as well as your own doorbell!!

Location: genuinely a 10 min walk from most of the famous attractions (colosseum, Trevi fountain, pantheon etc) which was fantastic, as well as being only a couple of minutes from termini train station and metro stations, with really reasonable fares (the metro is 1.50 euro for 100 mins of travel, or 6 euro for all day, or free with the 30 euro ROMA pass, and to and from the airport on the train is 14 euro per person).

I hope this helps! Overall we had a fantastic stay and holiday, so thank you hotel Dharma! :)
