“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2012

Wonderful, wonderful service at this hotel....reception staff were both courteous, helpful and forthcoming with advice. Our room, which by the way was very clean and spacious, was booked through a tour operator so we didn't get the mini bar or other 'extras' associated with booking the hotel direct but that didn't stop the staff from looking after us; the only downside was that there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room (although there was a refrigerator) so having read previous reviews we took a travel kettle in our luggage and purchased tea/coffe milk etc from the local Despar. The breakfast was good and the staff even provided a breakfast bag on the day we had to leave before 7.00am for a trip to Vesuvious. Hotel within walking distance of all of Romes tourist attractions.
So all in all we had an excellent stay made all the better by the friendly and helpful staff and would have no hesitation in staying there again.

On arrival was given a quiet room overlooking the piazza as requested by e-mail, very clean, large bed. Breakfast was plentiful ham (off the bone) delicious cakes, cereals, cheeses
tea/coffee ample to start the day.
Staff very helpful, the only negative is the fact that after a day walking in rome it would be nice to have a cuppa in your room, no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
We had a drink one night in the bar however, drinks were expensive, If they lower the prices and put a little background music on in the bar it would have a better atmosphere, and people would have a tipple before retiring.Staff very helpful and friendly.
The hotel within walking distance to the termini 15mins, Barbarini Piazza/Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain 20mins, however, Vatican 30 mins one way and Colleseum 30mins other direction.
but much better walking than taking buses which get stuck in traffic you might as well walk.
Felt very safe area and walking around at night was not a problem. Lovely gelato shop called CARUSOs just down the street from the hotel 2mins away benches to sit outside and eat your ice-cream with the locals. Will stay here again on returning to Roma.

Room Tip: corner suites large and sunny, hotel in general in a very quiet area

My wife and I stayed in Rome in March (great time for Rome) and picked the Hotel Londra and Cargill due to its location (a couple of blocks from the US and many other embassies). This was a great launching point for Rome at a very reasonable price. The staff was very friendly, the room was large and clean, and breakfast was included. Great restaurants and trattorias (sp?) are all over the place. If you're up for a good day's walk, you can pretty much cover everything from the neighborhood we stayed in. I highly recommend this hotel for its overall atmosphere, price, and location. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

First class service in this hotel - reception staff were courteous and helpful, and the breakfast staff ever ready to bring you a coffee of your choice. The breakfast was good (continental, buffet style affair), so make sure and eat your share before your day exploring Rome!
The rooms are spotless, comfortable and very spacious, and due to the quiet location we slept soundly even with the window open. The hotel sits just on the outskirts of the Centro Storico, meaning it's within easy walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo del Fiori. It's also within 5-10 mins from Repubblica metro station, meaning the Colosseum, Vatican and anything further afield are also very close!
One slight negative was the A/C in our room either didn't work very well or not at all, hence the 4 star review. As said, the hotel is in a quiet enough area that you can sleep with the window open, but this will probably be a problem if you're travelling in summer - make sure and ask for a room with functional A/C.
Altogether, a really great hotel, and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

I stayed here on four different nights under the same reservation. 2 nights of which, were in the same room. Every night was a different price, every night was different than the price quoted at the time of reservation.
