Rooms are clean and facilities are modern. What it lacks for location, it covers it with it's elegant lobby, rooms and facade. Food is good and staffs are friendly. Not much nearby shops so not recommended for long stay.

I do not get the negative reviews on here. This is a great, huge, American Style hotel who bent over backwards to please us. The rooms are big and clean. They are NOT outdated. They have breakfast included. It's located off the beaten path in a quiet place that's a 10 Euro cab ride to the Vatican so you don't have to stay in a noisy, grafitti filled area. McDonalds is within walking distance.

Ignore the negative reviews on here. Plus, it is SO reasonably priced. This is the place to stay in Rome.

We have stayed at this hotel for about ten years in a row. When we first stayed there we were excited because it had a beautiful pool and free parking unusual for Italy although it was a 35 minute walk to the Vatican. But in the last several years it has gone terribly down hill .The staff likes to argue with their guests rather than accomodate them. Are most recent stay September it was in the high 90's for weeks and the pool was closed. We asked for a handicapped accessible room and they said they didnt have any left. They gave us a dated room with a marble floor and just a curtain around the shower no grab bar or even a shelf for soap my wife end up slipping and falling against the toilet cracking several ribs. She ended up in bed for almost a week in severe pain. How stupid and inconsiderate of them to give us this type of room. The other thing that really bothered me was the fact that the same people still work the front desk and most of them act as if you have never been there before. They continue to do finish their one finger typing on the computer and totally ignore you until they are done. I find as an Italian the Romani are alot like the Milanese rude and arrogant.

Room Tip: do not stay here

On my recent trip to Rome I stayed at this hotel 2 nights and was disappointed as its location is terrible. There is nothing close by (within walking distance) other than Vatican City which is a hike. The lobby is impressive but that's about it. The carpet in the halls and room were stained, and the buffet breakfast left much to be desired. I was with a group and they kept running out of food, coffee and coffee cups. We ate dinner one night at the hotel and it was expensive. If you want location and more for your money I would not recommend this hotel.

Extraordinarily offhand service. I would NOT recommend this hotel - fleas (!), non-helpful staff, restaurant too expensive, pool (one of the main reasons for choosing this hotel) only open June-August despite brilliant weather in September
