“a most pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2012

I was a bit skeptical when a tout at the main train station recommended this hotel, just a few hundred meters from the station. Luggage in hand , we followed him and were nicely surprised at how nice (plain) and clean and how courteous the staff was. Our room was typical of others in the city, not large, bur entirely functional, and totally spotless. Breakfast next morning was served on a beautiful terrace on the top floor, with plenty to eat and drink. To stumble upon this lovely property in a great location with oodles to do within walking distance, and have cost only 100 euros was a great finish to a wonderful European vacation.

Stayed with my wife and 4 year old son in May 2004 for 2 nights. It was ok, everything was acceptable. The quality of information we got from the staff at the front desk though was outstanding. They pointed us to really good and afforable restaurants in the area and patiently helped us pick tourist itineraries in the city. As in most Rome hotels, you had to pay very expensive fees for 1 hour or 2 hours of internet... which I can't stand.

My 2 adult children and I stayed here in June 2012 for 4 nights. The room accommodated to three adults, but just barely. With our suitcases on the floor we had to be careful to walk around them. The room was clean, if a bit old. The bathroom was small and the shower curtain wouldn't stay closed, but the bathroom was clean and perfectly fine.
The staff was fantastic. Very friendly when my daughter and I checked in. My son was meeting us 2 hours later. When my son had not arrived 4 hours later and I was starting to panic, the wonderful young woman at the front desk immediately was helpful and started making phone calls for me. I think she was as worried as I was! My son arrived about 30 minutes later (his pre-arranged transfer from the airport never showed and had to wait 2 hours for a bus) she was as equally relieved and my daughter and I were. I truly cannot explain how helpful and kind she was during this time of great worry. I will always be grateful for her help.
While the hotel rooms are older and you will not find anything exceptional in the rooms, the staff and the breakfast were very nice.

Palladium palace hotel, via gioberti, Rome

Decent little hotel very close to termini station. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was spotlessly clean and decent size - in fact there was a second room with a sofa bed. Shower was hot and powerful. No luxury toiletries but plenty of small sachets which get you clean. The bed was nice and firm, though a bit skimpy on pillows. I'm sure reception would provide more if needed - I just raided the others in the room because I was on my own. Breakfast was fine - good selection of breads and pastries, cereals, etc, could use a bit more fresh fruit.

The hotel is very handy for the station, but a bit of a walk for the main attractions. The only downside is that my room was very noisy at night. I don't think you'd be able to settle if you weren't used to big city traffic noise.

The Hotel Palladium Palace is within minutes of Roma Termini. The room was pleasant and large especially after a disappointing hotel in Florence. We were able to leave the windows open during the night without any street noise. The breakfast area was located on the top room and offered a decent breakfast. The receptionists were friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to walk to many of Rome's attractions. Overall, this was a pleasant experience.
