“Amazing boutique hotel”
Reviewed 26 April 2012 via mobile

We recently stayed for 4 nights at Deko Rome and booked this hotel based on the fantastic reviews here on trip advisor. This is a small boutique hotel with only 6 rooms and we were fortunate enough to stay in the one bedroom suite. What definately makes this hotel worth every penny is the outstanding service from Marco and Serena. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated brilliantly. A map with all the must see sights, recommended places to eat, drink, shop and details of public transport was provided at check in. Every night on return from a long day exploring we were greeted by Marco and a glass of wine/prosecco (all included in price). If not already organised restaurant reservations were made to ensure we saw the best Rome had to offer food wise also. The restaurants recommended not only provided fabulous food but were places we would never have found on or own and tended not to be overly expensive.
On the whole this hotel was very different to any hotel we have ever stayed in and we feel made our short stay in Rome a far better experience than if we had stayed in a big chain hotel which would undoubtably have cost the same if not more but would not have come with such excellent service.
If we return to Rome in the future we would definitely stay here again and will certainly be recommending it to our friends should they choose to visit this beautiful city.

We stayed at Deko Rome over Easter weekend 2012 and couldn't have been happier with the service, the room, the location and the owners! Everything was just ideal. As soon as we arrived (which was late) Marco welcomed us with a glass of wine at the small bar/breakfast area (after carrying our bags up the stairs for us!!) He showed us on a map all the places we should visit, (not visit), eat and drink in (and not eat and drink in) and he was clearly so passionate about Rome and wanting us to have the best time possible.
The location is amazing - simply fantastic- close enough to all the main sights to be able to quickly pop back should you need to, but just tucked away in a nice calm, upmarket district of Rome so you are hidden from the other tourists!
Our room was described to us as being "small" - it was far from small - it was comfortable, exceptionally clean, trendy furniture and a beautifully finished bathroom. We had free drinks in the fridge every day including beer, water, iced tea and coke, and we even got a little bottle of prosecco too. On Easter sunday we came home to find a little easter egg for each of us - so nice! Breakfast was carefully prepared each morning - but don't expect a big hotel style breakfast - this is a different kind of hotel where more thought and attention goes into everything. Breakfast was lovely.
We even got given a I-pad to use for the duration of the stay which we could access the internet through free wifi.
The best thing about this hotel is that Marco and Serena make you feel like friends - they take so much time and care to make you happy, and my best bit of advice is to take the recommendations they give you - they don't just say things or recommend places for no reason - they do it because they know where to go and what the best places are to eat in! The places they booked for us were some of the best places we have ever eaten in (and NOT expensive either) but they were places we would never have found ever in a million years - so we were so grateful for that.
The couple of people who left negative comments about this hotel must have been a totally confused as to me this is not a big chain hotel - so dont' expect the 5 star chain hotel experience; but it is better than that, it is a unique boutuique hotel run by a smashing and wondertful couple who are passionate about what they do and the city they live in - and that is better than any chain hotel I have ever stayed in!
Anyone visiting Rome you HAVE to stay here - you will LOVE it !!!!

Not only is Rome an historically beautiful city, the people are the most pleasant and good natured you could find anywhere. The embodiment of the best qualities of Rome are found in Serena and Marco who go to extremes in managing the Deko Rome Hotel (Guest House) to make certain your stay at the Hotel and the City are most memorable. You could find no better hotel in the sense of physical attributes as well as the intrinsic qualities of its staff anywhere in the world. In addition, they have a most helpful assistant, with a most enjoyable sense of humor, who rounds out a great management staff at the hotel. My wife and I spent five wonderful nights from April 18 to April 23, 2012 at Deko Rome, and could not have imagined better accommodations. We arrived one day late, and although the hotel had every right to charge us for the missed night, they did not even consider doing so. Serena, Marco, and helper, thank you for one of the most enjoyable vacations...

We stayed at the Hotel Deko fro five nights, whilst attending a family wedding. From the moment we arrived to when we left the staff made us feel completely welcome. From day one when we were given tips of where to go to eat, drink and have ice cream, the criteria was only places where the owners went to personally. Each one we tried was completely authentic and we came away with a real scene of Rome as a city. I would highly recommend this place

This was my fourth trip to Rome over
the years, and this is my first stay with Deko. Deko clearly outshines all the competition in the following categories:
1. Best in value @ euro 165 (we paid in cash and received a discount of euro 10). As our flight leaves in the late evening, we requested for a half day rate and Marco kindly obliged our request.
2. Superb personal, warm and friendly service. Serena and Marco go all out to make their guests feel welcome like friends visiting their home.
3. Complimentary mini bar.
4. iPad 2 for guests to use during the duration of stay.
5. Full hearty breakfast with the best cappuccino (IMO).
6. Great restaurants and gelato recommendations.
7. Free cup of cappuccino or glass of wine in the evening.
8. Fast and free wifi access.
9. Waiver of euro 2 per person/day city tax.

Deko Guesthouse is located on the 2/F of a historic 20th century commercial building. Barberini metro station is about 10 mins walk. It is in a safe neighborhood and a small supermarket is just next door. There is a police station at the end of the building.

We booked 4 months ahead and we are glad to stay here. Serena and Marco are 2 young hoteliers making their dream come true in running a guesthouse and they are making exceptional milestones in that direction. I wish them both much success! Keep up the good work and continue to wow your guests!

It is cosy, charming and comfortable and a stay here is highly recommended.
