Perfect Room, Perfect Location

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Feb 2013
My wife and I visited Rome and spent seven nights at the Hotel Camp de'Fiori: what a treat! The room was gracious, lush, and romantic, and perfectly located in the heart of Rome, not more than a 20 minute leisurely walk to any historic site. We shared the provided bottle of Proseco and fruit and cracker basket on our private balcony, and it just kept getting better: breakfast was ample, varied and perfect, and the location: enough can not be said. Highly recommended, particularly for the romantically inclined. Do not miss the roof top terrace with panoramic views of Rome!

Great hotel with extremely helpful staff.Excellent rooms and facilities and a very central location. We were on a 40th birthday weekend and could not have stayed in a better hotel and area.
I only hope we were not the reason for the Pope resigning on our last day!!

Dear Guest,
Your title,
“Brilliant”
This word can have many significances but all positive! From the cleanliness to the location to the beauty to being distinguished and meaning also max!

It sums it all up. Our staff and our facililties see to it that every guest that stays with us is treated as being the only guest of the moment even if we are full almost always.
Your review is also important because your kind descriptive words have more weight because it was during a special occasion, celebrating a 40th birthday. An event that only comes once in life and therefore so important!
I don’t know if the Pope resigned because you were in Rome but we were certainly sad when you left Rome.

Warmest regards,
F. Severino

Great little boutique hotel at Campo De' Fiori within walking distance to everything in Rome. Lovely clean room, Lovely clean bathroom with romantic decor. The reception staff extremely welcoming and friendly. Great breakfast. Cannot fault anything in this hotel, the one star missing is for the little extras that wasn't there, and that we have gotten elsewhere...( amenities to make your own Tea and coffe in your room, straightening iron for hair, complimentary biscuits with Tea and coffe tray in room, bathrobes, etc...) If you are sensible to noise, this hotel is by a very crowded and busy plaza where teenagers get drunk every weekend. Just so you know:) would definately come back though next time I go to Rome!

My wife, daughter, mother in law and myself were travelling throughout Italy and this was our last stop for 5 days. We had the best time in Rome, partly because of the excellent location of the hotel. We opted for an apartment at the hotel and i'm glad we did.

Location -
Getting to here was easy enough, hopped into a taxi from the train station and we were there in about 15 minutes. The car was able to get right to the front door of the hotel. The hotel is located right next to one of the best squares in all of Rome. Restaurants, bakeries, bars, were all located literally right around the corner. We could have dinner, let our daughter run around and play while we relaxed and enjoyed the sights and sounds. We had to force ourselves to attempt to go to other squares, none of them matched up. In the morning there is a farmers market throughout the square and you can find everything from t-shirts, to cheese, to wines. In addtion to all the great things right underneath you have most of the best tourist areas and sights within walking distance. We walked to the Vatican, Colosseum, and all the other sights from our Hotel, didn't use a taxi at all. To put it simply the best location for a hotel.

Check-In, Room, Service -
The entire staff was extremely friendly. We waited outside while they completed the check-in process. They spent some time to tell us all the things we needed to know including providing us with a map and highlighting our location and sights nearby. There was a bit of mix up at check-in, but as soon as they realized they went above and beyond to correct the mistake. Whenever we ran into a staff member, they had a friendly smile on their face and were always there to accommodate any needs. Superb service.

Room/Apartment -
The 1 Bedroom Apartment we had was just what we needed. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. Everything was spotless and having a kitchen was perfect. With our 2 year old daughter having all of those things available was excellent. The beds was very comfortable, and the sleep sofa's were good enough. After 5 days of staying in the apartment we really did not want to leave. We almost felt like we were part of the city.

We have been to a lot of hotels and stayed in all types of places. If we were to ever go back to Rome, I wouldn't even waste my time to look at other hotels. This would be the place, without a second thought. If you do choose this place you will not regret it.

PS. If you do end up staying here, There is a bakery around the corner, that serves this flat bread with olive oil and Italian seasoning that is out of this world. Once we found and tasted it, I couldn't get enough.

This was my husband and I's first trip to Italy and it began with 3 nights in Rome, including our wedding anniversary. I researched hotels exhaustively looking for something in the middle of things without feeling cold and generic. Hotel Campo de'Fiori was PERFECT! We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel (we like to walk) but Piazza Narvona, Trevi Fountain, and Trastevere were very close. You walk through all the old streets of Rome to get to the hotel, just as I pictured. And the hotel sits right around the corner from the popular Campo de' Fiori square with lots of restaurants and shops. The rooftop deck at the hotel was to die for! My favorite part of the trip was having it to myself and watching the sun rise over Rome. Our room was small (as expected) but beautifully appointed. The windows and shutters were great at keeping the the city noise out. Breakfast was lovely each morning and the service wonderful. The front desk staff helped arrange a car to pick us up at the airport and made our anniversary dinner reservations for us before we arrived. At the end of our trip we stayed 2 nights at Hotel 47 which was highly recommended by friends and in the same price range. It was nice but I preferred Campo de' Fiori; much warmer and in a much more charming neighborhood. The hotel is beautiful and exactly what I envisioned for our trip to Rome! Highly recommend.

Dear Guest,
“Exactly what I dreamed of...”

My answer to your title is, “who says dreams don’t come true!?” “Yours did!”
As you said you searched for a hotel that wasn’t,
“cold and generic”
Our facilities are a blend of old and new beginning with a building that dates back between the 1200’s and the 1400’s but at the same moment has al the major modern comforts such as Free WiFi throughout the building, hair dryer, Flat LCD TV, sound proof windows, frigo and the list goes on and on . . .
As you highlight,
“Hotel Campo de' Fiori was PERFECT!”
Our location is within all major as well as minor sights. Your list is quit complete but it is in reality a lot longer such as, The Vatican, The Pantheon, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo, Colosseo, Roman Forum etc. etc.
Our roof top terrace is the icing on the cake as you also state,
“The rooftop deck at the hotel was to die for! My favorite part of the trip was having it to myself and watching the sun rise over Rome.”
Our staff as mentioned by all of our guests is an unbeatable equipe that see to it that all of our guests have an amazing experience since for many it is a once in a lifetime trip.
What makes your review so important is that you were celebrating your Wedding Anniversary which is not an everyday thing and this means that for you this trip was worth 10 trips! As you also conclude,
“The hotel is beautiful and exactly what I envisioned for our trip to Rome! Highly recommend.”
Thank you for you kind words and we do hope to have you as our guests for your next special occasion!
Warmest regards,
F. Severino

We spent a week in Rome, late January. The hotel is a fantastic place as a base to explore Rome. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and decorated to set the mood. (Pillows are are great for those who dislike the feather pillows in most hotels) The location is within 20-30 minutes walk of most of the tourist attractions of Rome, nestled neatly between The Colesseum and the Vatican. Forget the red hop on hop off buses, just walk everywhere. And please don't overlook the immediate area around the hotel, cobblestone lanes, vibrant markets and magnificent scenery the moment you step foot outside the hotel. Explore those lanes, you wont be disappointed. Eating places galore within seconds. Location is fantastic but not the be all and end all of this establishment. Staff that pride themselves on friendliness and service delivery are the finishing touches. We will be returning to Rome and will not even consider staying elsewhere. Highly recommend.

Dear Guest,
Having read that for you our hotel and services offered are to be considered,
“Faultless”
Is truly a positive description to read especially having noticed that you have written about 6 hotels meaning experience in traveling and knowing exactly what to look for to be able to judge.

Our hotel as well as the area where it is located are synonymous to, Romantic, central, historical and amazing! You indicate this more than once in your review and it is all true. The Campo de’ Fiori area is unbeatable!

Our staff as you say prides itself on friendliness and high services are to be considered as you say, “finishing touches” but I would say not finishing touches but touches which accompany you throughout your stay with us either for a 1 day or 1 week stay!
Thank you for your recommendation and see you soon!
Best Regards,
