“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

We stayed here for five nights in February. The deluxe room was compact, comfortable, clean and warm. The location is exceptional - right in the heart of the city, a pictursque square adjacent to the hotel has restaurants that are good and inexpensive. Reception staff were outstanding - excellent English spoken, they were without exception friendly and helpful (booking tickets for Vatican Museums, Villa Borghese ans well as limo pickup from the airport. We will certainly return to this hotel.

I am not one to usually gush in a review/ even take the time to write a review, but in this case I felt compelled to.

The hotel was excellent. From the reception staff to the cleaning staff, to the drivers that picked us up and returned us to the airport everyone at this hotel went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as easy and as hassle free as possible.

From the minute of booking, emails were promptly replied to. The reception staff booked us into two fantastic restaurants (within budget and to the spec that I asked for - tradditional Roman cusine - preferably tourist free!), gave us a free upgrade and arranged transport to and from the airport for 50 E each way (same price as a cab and no hassle - driver was waiting for us on arrival and took us TO THE DOOR - priceless when you are new to a city and dont speak the language!)

All of the extras were thought through - they have a superb roof terrace, but instead of trying to sell you overpiced wine in a porrly stocked mini bar, they provide a corkscrew in every room and glasses and recommend that you pick up a local bottle fromt he store over the road (we did this for 5 E) and take it to the terrace to enjoy! This was such a refreshing change!

Ok - so the rooms are small - BUT - what else can you expect when you are in the heart of the city less than 30 minutes walk from everything (and to be fair - when in Rome who wants to spend hours inside?!?). The room was beautifully decortaed and the bathroom super modern and stylish.

If you want a massive 5* generic "super hotel" this isnt for you. If you want a tasteful, personalised, beautiful boutique hotel you must book this place.

Dear Guest,

Your review seems like a response I would write to a guest that has indicated as a title, “Excellent”! You did both!
It is always very gratifying to read reviews that indicate and highlight themes which we believe are important when referring to hosting our guests. To make their stay with us as hassle and worry free as possible and anticipating our guests requests. We believe in offering and suggesting to all of our guests the best quality restaurants and pizzerias so that they may taste the real Roman Italian cuisine with fresh cooked food (no precooked) at a normal price!

An airport private luxury car service at the same cost of a normal taxi this way the vacation begins on the right foot without any mishaps which can range from being overcharged, a dirty cab to rudeness.

We don’t believe in presenting a bill at the end of a stay with us where our guests find more written under extras than the cost of the room. For us the extra is already paid when our guests select us for their stay and then write a nice review on the services offered this is why we do not sell wines but we prefer to offer 2 bottles of mineral water upon arrival.

Our rooms are hotel rooms elegantly furnished with all modern comforts located in a building in the real historical centre of Ancient Rome which dates back to the 1400’s. We believe that it is worth more to leave the front door of the hotel and be in the middle of the hussle and bussle of the city instead of having to wait 30 minutes for a bus and then 60 minutes to take you to and from the centre of Rome considering that a tourists time is limited to see a city.

We base ourselves on, location, beauty, commodity, services all which added together make a guests stay with us an unforgettable stay! As you state even if you are not use to writing reviews you will be compelled to write one after your stay with us.

Warmest regards,
F. Severino

We stayed in one of the hotel's appartments. While not spacious, it was like living on the Campo. Loved the experience! Staff was helpful. Breakfast great. Will definitely return.

Walking through Rome is the real trip, but you need someone to take you by hand to help you discovering its secrets.

Thank you, dear guest, for sharing your September trip memories with other travellers. As the saying goes “When in Rome do as the Romans do “: this is the perfect philosophy if you wish to stay in one of our apartments in Campo de’ Fiori! Our hotel not only offers cosy and elegant rooms, but also comfortable apartments, for those guests who want to enjoy an authentic experience and a more independent and private stay.

The fact that you found your apartment “not spacious” surprises me, as our apartments have been specifically studied to offer our guests more spacious and comfortable accomodation, while always impeccably appointed. Moreover we do have apartments of different sizes, therefore if you had informed our helpful staff, as you stated, they would have offered you a bigger one according to the availability.

Hopefully that was such a small issue that did not affect your lifetime trip experience.

Looking forward to your next visit,

Best Regards

F. Severino

We have been to Rome many times and the Hotel Campo De'Fiori is one of our absolute favorites. I highly recommend the apartments which are actual apartments either next to or across the street from the actual hotel. The apartments are very private, very romantic and are very well kept and safe. We have never seen the rooms in the hotel but the public spaces (especially the roof top garden) are incredible. Never a night in Rome went by that we didn't get a bottle of wine from the shop across the square and watch the sun go down over Rome from the hotel's roof. Pick this one. You won't be sorry.

Room Tip: The apartments are very private and romantic.

“Our favorite hotel in Rome!”

Dear Guest,

your title is very important to us especially since you have been to Rome many times and this means that you are familiar with Italian and Roman hotels and therefore you are able judge properly and express exactly what is positive and what you may have found negative.
We do try and it seems that we are very successful in making our hotel as well as our apartments a home away from home for all of our guests and this makes us very happy.
As you indicate, “the Hotel Campo De'Fiori is one of our absolute favorites” and “The apartments are very private, very romantic and are very well kept and safe”. Within a couple of words you have expressed some thoughts that cover all of our facilities!

Our Boutique hotel is renowned for it’s location, beauty, coziness, terrace view of Rome, something that 95% of the tourists that visit Rome are unable to see and it’s for free!! Our apartments although located in buildings dating back to the 1400’s and their basements back to the 1200’s are all totally renovated with all modern comforts such as, A/C, Free WiFi, LCD Flat Tv’s, modern kitchens with all the necessary utensils to cook with. We also offer coffee, tea and sugar in all of our apartments, daily cleaning is also included and all of our guests have access to all the hotel facilities as well. Perfect for families or couples that desire the feeling of home, more space and yet on vacation!

Hoping to have you return with us.

Warm Regards,

F. Severino

We spent 3 nights in this hotel and booked 2 rooms. Right from the start we informed the staff that it was a surprise for our mother's birthday and that she had no idea we would be there as well. They helped us to organise everything from the taxi to pick my parents up at the airport to book us in two of the most beautiful hotel rooms I ever stayed in. When we arrived, all the staff knew about our plan as soon as we told them our name and their welcoming was the most professional and fiendly I could possibly dream of from a hotel reception. They even offered us the champagne and arranged glasses and snacks to great our mother when she arrived. Overall, we owe al lot to the hotel and the staff for making our week end such a special one. Honnestly, I loved everything about his hotel: the amazing decoration, the comfort of the rooms, the location (walking distance to the main monuments), the breakfast, the view from the roof top, and of course the staff, their friendliness, their language skills in French, their service and their 'italian charm'!! It was just perfect!

Dear Guest,

Although there is a saying that perfection is not of this world, we try to get as close as possible!!

Our multi language university level staff is prepared for organizing important events such as birthdays, matrimonies, honeymoons, special events and guests that are seeking to pass a special vacation getting away from the daily tam tams. We are able to organize, airport pick up’s as well as airport returns with luxury cars at the rates of normal taxis, to organize private tours as well as group tours, to reserve restaurants, pizzerias and trattorias that are not touristy. The happiness and fulfillment of our guests is our happiness and fulfillment!

Our hotel designed by an important Architect offers elegance, coziness, modern facilities and comforts while being in a building that of which we are proud for the fact that if one chooses to take the staircase to his room he can admire embedded in the walls pieces of white marble fragments as well as a column dating back to the Theatre of Pompey approx. 44 B.C. exactly where Julius Caesar was murdered! Maybe he even touched these pieces of marble but for certain Ancient Romans as well as Medieval Romans and up to today’s Modern Romans have touched them being there since the 1400’s and having origins to 44 B.C. meaning 1,968 YEARS OLD!!!! Not an everyday thing even for other hotels in Rome. To top it all off, a beautiful roof top terrace with an absolutely fabulous view of the Eternal City.

We are very pleased that your stay with us was a total success this way your mother will have a lifetime souvenir to cherish, “her stay in Rome!”

Best Regards,

F. Severino
