“It isn't Sicily, but...”
Reviewed 4 August 2012

This delightful little pasticceria, just off the Tiber, is a bit of Sicily in Rome. It's modern, gleaming and immaculate. It's also quite small, with just a few stools and a little bar, but standing around is very Italian anyway. The cannoli were wonderful; crispy shells, made in the traditional way, filled with fresh sweet ricotta cream laced with pistachios, chocolate and/or candied fruit, etc. They also sell delicious torte (cakes), jams and marmalades, oils, wines, gelato and granite, using authentic Sicilian recipes or shipped directly from Sicily. The place is a gem...and addictive!

“Excellent almond milk”
Reviewed 4 August 2012

I enjoyed the pistachio cannoli, along with the fresh almond milk advertised at the counter. Would highly recommend! The inside is a bit small (only one table), but it is so delicious it will be gone in a flash!

“Best Cannoli we had”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

We saw that this place was supposed to be the best and was near the Vatican and the other Restaurant (Trattoria del Pollarolo) we wished to check out so after our pizzas at the first establishment we walked over to this one.
My son had a classic Cannoli. I had a hazelnut and my wife had a pistachio. My brother in law and his girlfriend had a classic each. They were the best we had. The shells were crunchy/crumbly and not stale and the stuffing was perfect. Sometimes we had them from other places where they are sour or have a sour aftertaste. Not here. They were creamy and sweet but not too sweet. My brother in law went in for a second one because his first was that good.
Two weeks in Italy and these were the best.

“Gluten Free Cannolis?! Yes, Please.”
Reviewed 30 June 2012

We made a special trip to this place because we heard of their gluten free cannoli - and it was worth every minute we spent walking there.

My husband was able to get multiple non-gluten free treats (and loved every one) and I was able to eat, too. In fact, as I write this, I want more - so I'll probably head out in a few and get one.

Or 5.
