Charming family run restaurant that serves tasty authentic dishes. Other restaurants nearby may look more appealing due to their décor and fancy lighting. La Balestra is all about the food without the pretence. We both agreed that this was probably the best food that we had whilst staying in the local area (we stayed at the Grand Beverley Hills). The restaurant style is very traditional which does emit a lovely friendly vibe, the dining experience was relaxed and un hurried. certainly happy to recommend without hesitation.

Family owned and run in the neighborhood of Parioli. Only open in the evenings serving good basic Italian fair.

Excellent meal, very drinkable homemade red wine and very modest cost for dinner for two. Highly recommended for an authentic Italian meal.

We had a fab meal, turned up as a group of 8 and they were very accommodating. Clearly a family run business not many tables but locals were also eating there, which is always a good sign.
Simple but tasty food, with a Tiramisu to die for.
Would recommend for a non-fancy evening meal.

My group of fellow English tourists dined here twice during our 3 day stay at nearby Beverley Hills Hotel on the recommendation of our lovely tour rep Tony who also dined there. I had linguine with mussels and clams which was very salty, followed by a good mixed cheese plate and panna cotta on first occasion and veal with salad followed by zuppa inglese (sort of Italian trifle) which was delicious and amused the waiter, it seemed. Good value.
