It's hard to match the Forum for location if the ancient city, as opposed to St Peter's, is where you want to be.

The room upgrades are worth paying for it seems and the hotel does very competitive rates off season with the additional incentive of a loyalty discount if you return! Whilst I'd echo the other comments regarding the prices in the bar and restaurant I can see how they're comparable with similar establishments. The view from the bar alone is worth pushing the boat out just once.

With so very many excellent places to eat and drink nearby though it would be criminal not to sample what the rest of the city has to offer and yes your money does go further.

If you want views that will live with you forever and especially if you're staying in Rome for just a few days and want to make the most of your time with a very central location and you feel like a real treat the Forum is hard to beat.

The service and cleanliness and location were all superb.

Room Tip: Given what others have said it looks like it's worth paying for a room upgrade. If you're go...

we had a great time at the hotel forum. bang in the centre its so easy to get around rome from here. the restaurant was lovely, the view from it was stunning at night, looks right onto the forum. the rooms were slightly old fashioned but that seems to be the style in italy.

My boyfriend took me to Rome last year, it was the first weekend in March 2011. We flew into Rome and caught the train from the airport into the city then the metro to the hotel which was fun and made a nice change from just jumping in a cab & being delivered. We arrived at the hotel and it had a 1930's feel. This is not a modern hotel but that is part of it's charm, the front of house staff were polite but reserved and the bar staff, we found were wonderful. They gave us great recommendations for places to eat. The first night we were tired so we ate in the hotel restaurant, my advice DO NOT EAT IN THE HOTEL RESTAURANT. It is over priced, the service was bad and they rushed us BUT the views at night are special. Within a short walk you can find great food & much cheaper. Our bedroom was small but clean, the same with the bathroom but we were in Rome to explore so for us it was a base to sleep & to change. My best tip is to catch the glass lifts to the top of the Vittoriano which is a 5-10min walk away. It had by far the best view of Rome and at only 7 Euro it was reasonable, it was empty when we went up and stayed there over an hour, we stumbled across this quite by chance as I hadn't read in any guide book that you could go to the top. The morning on top of the Vittoriano was my favorite day!

Dear Guest,
Whilst we are extremely happy that you enjoyed our wonderful location and found our staff to be very kind and gentile.... at the same time we are truly sorry that the Restaurant did not meet your expectations. However, please note that the restaurant do not "rush" anyone and guests are allowed as much time as they need to enjoy a fine meal overlooking the Imperial Roman Forum. In any case we have notified the restaurant of your observations. Finally, we would like to inform you that the restaurant has not increased their prices in over 4 years!!!! in addition the prices are exactly the same as you would find in other similar category restaurants in Rome. We sincerely hope that you will turn to Rome and be our guest and would be very happy to see you again!

Super hotel in a prime location. Room out of this world with friendly hotel staff from the chambermaids to the manager on the front desk. The only downside was the prices in the bar and the restaurant. With so many quality, far cheaper options within walking distance the hotel could be losing good trade by pricing themselves out of contention. One small beer and a glass of wine in the hotel 17 Euros. In an Irish bar within 30m of the hotel, one large beer and a glass of mine 8 Euro. Do the maths!

Room Tip: View of the forum a must. Bit more expensive but well worth it.

My husband and i have just returned from this lovely hotel booked for me for my birthday
staff are professional but friendly and helpful, continental breakfast on the rooftop terrace is wonderful, we also had a meal on saturday evening which was brilliant ,on arrival we were taken to a room which can only be described as a cell! but my husband spoke to the reception staff and we were moved to the 3rd floor, room not great for this star hotel, but clean and comfortable, beware the gladiators at the colosseum who call you over to take a picture then charge you 20 euros for the privelige!!
all in all a good hotel with a lovely bar and barman, who kept us supplied with coffee and cake at a reasonable price

Room Tip: ask for a room on the 3rd floor

Thank you for your wonderful remarks which we have shared with our staff.

Our Hotel being ancient palace of Imperial Roma do not have large rooms as a modern hotel, but most of our rooms are quite spacious and very confortable.

We look forward to welcoming you back.
