“Great hotel - even better than expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2012

Booked hotel based upon reviews and was not disappointed. For the price it was very good value. Spotless hotel, rooms were large and well appointed - we even had a 4 poster bed. Staff were very helpful, had an evening flight and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after checkout. The location was within easy walking distant of all transport. Could not fault it and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: We had room no 120. Very large with 4 poster comfortable bed and bath.

We were very pleased with this hotel. The reviews on tripadvisor were spot on. The location was great, close to the train station and even closer to the metro which we used like the locals. (Hint: buy the 3 day tourist unlimited pass for 11Euros. Well worth it.) Our room was #124 a standard, corner room was beautiful with its frescoed ceiling and overlooked the intersection of Via Vicenza and Viale Castro Pretorio. A very busy area but we never heard any street sounds thanks to the double windows. The bed was very comfortable and felt great after all the walking we did around Rome. The breakfast was the best we had in all of Italy. Great selection of fresh fruits, hot eggs, pastries and interesting dishes such as fritattas and Caprese and vegetables not to mention the cappuccino was out of this world. The front desk staff and the breakfast staff were very sweet, always with a smile and, of course, helpful. They helped my husband to communicate to the restaurants that he needed gluten free foods by writing senza glutine on the back of a business card and gave us restaurant suggestions in the area. These turned out to be not only cheaper but better food than the "downtown/tourist" area. All in all a wonderful experience that we would gladly recommend to anyone.
By the way, we thought the elevator was really cool.

We spent 3 nights in the Hotel Canada based on TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed.
The hotel is close to Rome's Termini station. If you exit the station from the doors onto Via Marsala, Via Vicenza is about 1/2 block to the left and across Via Marsala.
The hotel is clean, well appointed, has free Wi-fi, pleasant bar and sitting area.
Our room was spacious, with a balcony, sitting area, comfortable bed and large bathroom. The shower was in the bath and if you have feet over size 8 (men) you'll find it quite awkward. Other than that the room and air conditioning were fine.
The breakfast was self service but there were several servers who took your coffee order. You could have as many coffees, including cappuccinos, as you like. The service in the breakfast room was very good and attentive. A very good selection of hot and cold food, including sausages and eggs along with the usual Italian breakfast foods like prosciutto and parma hams, cereals, sweet pastries, croissants, breads and rolls.
The only negative was that the front desk staff were not overly friendly, but to be fair English is not their first language.
We would recommend staying at the Hotel Canada despite the high price of hotel accommodation in Rome.
We ate at the Il Trattotoria Pizzeria just across the street from the Hotel Canada. It is run by 3 Egyptian cousins and the food was the best quality and value we had throughout our trip in Italy. If you go, say "hi" to Mohammed from the Canadians. He is absolutely charming with a wonderful personality.

5 star service in a 3 star hotel. Our room was nice and confortable big bathroom, Breakfast was fantastic, great location. I was a bit concerned on the location ( near Termini station ) but it was nice an quiet, plenty of restaurants near by with great food. Staff was very helpfull on our needs. The Bartender can make a great Martini. All in All I would go back and recomend this hotel to any one.

This was our first time in Rome - The hotel is easy to find and easy to get to. The hotel is a very short walk to the Subway station and a fairly long walk to the train station. The subway location is key.

We were upgraded upon arrival to room/suite 434. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The staff acknowledged our milestone -- many thanks to them.

The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast had the best variety of the hotels we visited.

The hotel bar was comfortable and relaxing after long days of walking.

We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Choose a low room if you're worried about the elevator (no problem for us). Room 434 was great...
